The Oilers don’t have many weaknesses right now as much as I hate to say it. It used to be goaltending and D but that’s not an issue anymore. Tippett has them playing great 5 on 5 so all they need to do is win the special teams battle which they easily do. The right side of their D still can't play defence. Hopefully this kid develops; he could be a real handful if he can score in the NHL. The Oilers have been pretty underwhelming 5on5 compared to their special teams. Hyman, Pool boy and #97 haven't exactly put up great numbers evens. They have the best pk and pp right now and it's working very well for them. Their defense has been meh and they have struggled most nights 5on5 , not terrible just not 8-1 good but when you are 50% on the pp and like 95+% on the pk it covers up a lot of the issues. 4 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

They would be like pylons for McDavid to skate around. he’s already the most hacked and whacked player in the entire league. The amount of stick work he has to put up with is mind boggling.
