I wish Jake well in getting his act together but as a hockey fan I've had enough of waiting for him to put it together on the ice. His flashes of brilliance are just not enough to make up for the frustration of the other 90% of his game. His on ice performance was frustrating enough. His off ice shenanigans didn't help him any. Yeah, keep moving forward and treat each season as a chance to win the cup - from a fans perspective, it is more exciting than going through a traditional cycle of rebuilding for multiple years; but the cost in futures is high and hoping for JB to continue with his drafting mojo in the late rounds. Too bad, he had dominant games, he just couldn’t figure things out on and off the ice. It's hard for young people to juggle a bit of fame and fortune and not everyone navigates those waters well. He had such promise but just didn't ever seem "all in" with respect to focus and commitment. And seems to have made some bad decisions along the way? In learning of the accusations against him, that was the final straw for me (if proven true). No turning back because there were already "issues" and so putting himself into a position to succeed became his responsibility. Party boy is one thing but potentially crossing moral lines is too far gone for me. Sad, because I was a big fan/supporter of his but I also have a daughter and allegations of sexual abuse concern me. Women's (actually all human's) bodies are their property and even if they change their minds, that's to be respected. I guess time will tell (to some degree...these things are hard to prove) but if he left a victim out there, that's not someone I want on my team.
