I wonder if they would consider us taking back a bottom six guy to take some cap off their books.

IIRC, Heinen is an expiring RFA...

Debrusk makes over 3 mill. How does that make any sense for us to take?

If they take both Holtby and Schmidt at full AAV could be worth it

OK.. Jokes aside, does Boston even have cap room to fit both Holtby and Schmidt after sending us DeBrusk?

Yeah but where do you wanna play him? On the 4th line?

Everyone has to compete for the spot, yea. He's overpaid for sure, but so is Holtby. If we can clear all the cap and sign Hamonic, Savard and Khaira or a similar combo could round out the team nicely . Also Green does have the option of running 3 offensive lines

Hoglander - Petterson - Boeser

Pearson - Horvat - Garland

DeBrusk - Miller - Podkolzin

Motte - Dickinson - Highmore

Khaira/MacEwan/etc

Well, they do have $20M to spend with only 6 roster spots left.

Can play him on Bo's RW until Podz is ready.  We need size in top 6 and cant go into next yr with the smurfs we have now.

Technically yes. They have 20M currently with 12 forwards incl. DeBrusk (Krejci or a replacement to be re-signed), 5 defenseman (this would give them a 6th), and no goalies signed (Holtby and Rask re-signing would be the likely combo in this fantasy scenario).
