At that salary he is a bargain. Ritchie is probably looking at $2.5-$3 million so they cut him loose. That will eat up half of that cap space remaining plus they need some D. Schmidt is an option for them. If they can trade DeBrusk that will also free up alot of cap to go all in on a forward. Make Podkolzin the star attraction in Abbotsford with top line minutes to adjust in NA and put his cap towards Ritchie.
