To be honest I'd rather just keep Holtby for next season rather than buy him out. A buyout will basically still cost us 2M in cap space and we'll have to go find a UFA goalie who are mostly around 1-2M anyway. We are going to need a veteran backup just in case of injury you would think. Cause if demko gets injured and silovs and Dipietro are our goalies. therodigy Posted July 27, 2021 Share Posted July 27, 2021 Not surprising. Having the extra $3.8M this year in cap space is certainly helpful, especially if they acquire a backup for less than $2M. Use that extra $1.8 towards paying out the RFAs.
