For free?  Find it pretty funny that Edm can't give up something to outbid Chicago.  For most teams I would think this means they have another plan, but in Edmonton's case, they likely just messed it up.

But they got Duncan Keith instead!

So Flueury has a 10 team NTC, why retire if he agreed to the trade, and why agree to a trade if you are just going to retire?

Sounds like they didn't give him much of a choice to make up his mind.  Reminds me of when Toronto tried to trade for Kiprusoff.

Sounds like he might have learned over twitter that he had been traded per Jesse Granger - tweet above your post.

Vegas can trade him without involving him as long as they don't ship him to 1 of the 10 teams on his no-trade.

Vegas clearing cap space to welcome Schmidt back home.

Would make a ton of sense for Vegas if they can fit him under the cap.  He played like a top pairing defenceman for them.

Kind of confusing and mind blowing how Fleury is not locked up long term with a team, he's a world class goalie with a winning pedigree on the big stage. Supposedly a great team mate, it's hard to imagine why teams move on from him considering how hard it is to find good, consistent goaltending in this league. Chicago fans should be pretty stoked if this happens, that fact that he could be on his third team is kinda crazy.

Their Ds look set and they have other holes in their lineup to fill.   Martinez has agreed to re-sign which will allows them to keep their top-4 intact - their playoff pairings were:

Martinez-Pietrangelo

McNabb-Theodore

Or Fleury doesn't want to go to Edmonton. He has a modified NTC (https://www.capfriendly.com/players/marc-andre-fleury1).

Imagine winning the Vezina, making the conference finals, and carrying your team to the playoffs only to be traded and informed via Twitter.

Knights are garbage.

And they haven't even reached out. No class, no shame.

chicago going all in to win another cup with the additions of Seth Jones and Marc-Andre - Fleury. incredible.

All they need is like 6 more good  forwards and 4 more good defenceman and they have a chance!
