Quick question guys.

So we have roughly 26 mil in cap atm. Is that including Ferland on LTIR or no? If it isnt included, we are looking pretty good with all that cap.

No, he is on IR now so it counts against the cap. If they need that extra to go over the limit, they can place him on LTIR but hopefully this all can be done without have to place him on ltir

I’m a little surprised Benning has had zadarov big mean has played right side almost his whole career black hawks have 600k in space I think he could be had for free

Zadorov is an RFA - you'd have to acquire his rights.

Are you suggesting Chicago would practically give them away?

I'm relaxed - life is good. I just don't think the agents for EP and QH are "salivating" because the Canucks traded away Schmidt and cleared more cap else where. I don't think it affects their contracts all that much.

I was jesting…….and I agree with you ::D

I think Tampa would be more willing to ship Johnson off for a pick than they would be to cough up anything significant from their roster. If I'm a GM and my team's window is wide open, I'm doing everything I can to hold on to every significant piece of my two time Stanley Cup winning team that I can.

Or, considering it's Tampa, I simply wait for a mysteriously well timed injury to hit so I can put someone on LTIR.

I think they would have to do both.  Johnson has trade protection and clearly used it to avoid being sent to the basement dweller teams willing to take on his cap hit for a sweetener.

I am happy to take on Johnson,

Cernak, and a 2023 1st… they can have Juolevi and a 3rd back.

Hawks will want to move Zadorov before arbitration (tomorrow?)

perhaps we can trade that 3rd we just picked up from the Jets.

Last heard Z was looking for 4m as RFA.

perhaps a 1 year bridge at Qualifying puts a smile on his face (3.6?) .

I don’t think he likes it in Chi,.  And all I read is the dislike of him.

We need an imposingly aggressive D man to help Myers hold his ground.

3 skilled D in OEL Hughes and Rathbone.

offset Myers Zadorov .., fill in the blank.

highmore and macewen are not guarantees to be part of the roster, remember we are competing now. we have 30.2m for 5 forwards 4 defenceman and a goalie. if hughes and petterson sign between 12-14M we will have 2 - 2.25m for 8 players each

If it’s a cap numbers game in Chicago, I don’t think they could even qualify him right now.

if they can’t qualify him, I beleive it goes to arbitration.

Perhaps even turns UFA in the process ?

not sure.

Orcas are part of the dolphin family. Just saying.

Used to tell that to passengers on the ferries, crushed some of them.

Couldn't figure that out.

By calling it something else, did it get smaller, less beautiful, less agile or in anyway lessen it's apex marine mammal status?

Interesting thoughts buds, Like the ones that helped us acquire what will be our new top pairing dman, along with a very good top 6 winger?

Gosh all in all those signing kinda worked out, But lets pick and choose what we look at eh

If you ignore the good contracts he’s only signed bad ones though. ;)

Wouldn’t it be great to have a job that you could screw up Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday, but on Friday, you can undo all the screw ups, and have everyone in the office think your a hero for saving the week.

Seriously, how many hundreds of millions have been spent over the last 7 years training this guy to be a GM.  You can like the guy, fill your boots, but calling him a genius?  I would gladly take 1% of the money he has squandered.

Really? They were disappointed?

I'd gladly take 1% of Jeff Bezo's cash; but what does that have to how the team is going?

Bezos does not hire people who have not done the job before, and dole out over 560M over 7 years training them. Oh, and that same guy is saying 3 years before contending, that’s a ten year rebuild.
