Wouldn’t it be great to have a job that you could screw up Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday, but on Friday, you can undo all the screw ups, and have everyone in the office think your a hero for saving the week.

Seriously, how many hundreds of millions have been spent over the last 7 years training this guy to be a GM.  You can like the guy, fill your boots, but calling him a genius?  I would gladly take 1% of the money he has squandered.

If CDC actually spent the time to micro-analyze every GM in the league, 31/32 GMs would be considered trash, the 1 good one being the cup winning team GM.
Myopic views of teams in their own city aren't a very accurate representation of reality.

It occurs to me that this thread operates as a perfect representation of the Canucks fanbase as a whole.

We literally break even on a player, and you have one side insisting that we somehow won the deal, and another side insisting that we somehow lost the deal.

This fanbase is a parody.

Where do you fit into this cavalcade of whimsy and despair?

Any tentacles that aren't purely hypothetical?

Not having space to re-sign Tanev because Schmidt took his money?

Pretty direct result, IMO.

And now we have the cap space to sign a younger shutdown guy who plays a more physical game, such as Hakanpaa, because we moved Schmidt...

Or you need to read more.

Or understand that metaphors aren't literal.

Honestly don't know how to educate you on this one.

You can’t teach me on this one because your metaphor was both trite and irretrievably stupid.

And Hakanpaa is a direct replacement for Tanev how?

Why don't we trade Hughes for cap space because we're about to sign another OFD in Hunt?

How about you wait to see how he spends the money before automatically assuming it'll be a downgrade from an aging Tanev?

You think everyone passionate Canucks fan ought to post on CDC?

lol?

oh, I think plenty of things ought to be.

I want fans to come the their teams website and post their opinion if they are concerned enough.

I know, it's almost too simple right?

This trade has a lot more tentacles than just a 3rd out and a 3rd in.

Think deeper and smarter.

AHHHA!  you slipped up... Lost you're cover.  You're a Kraken fan!!!!.  Should have known!  Trying to turn innocent canuck fans against one another.... Well it won't work you krackhead!  Go back to the dark dank depth from whence you came!!!

I was worried about our D before this, and I'm still worried.

Looking forward to bringing in a couple guys who can actually play D - something we've been lacking for a long time.

94' Canucks had a couple puck movers, and the rest were pretty much guys who could punch you in the face and block a shot with his forehead.

Different game, along time ago - but if you look at Tampa's D - pretty similar.

Although it would have been entertaining to see Miller ram Nate's face through a locker room stall, I'm happy to see the annoying little twerp gone. I'm sure the entire Canucks team is happy to have him gone - more addition by subtraction.

Good work Jim. Now please don't sign Hamilton.

Meh. Probably could have landed more in a return had we waited until the Dman market had dried up, but we got our pick back and I understand that the team probably wants to ensure they have the space to sign Petey, so I'm not bothered.

But the Schmidt trade happened after Tanev signed in Calgary?

What am I missing here?

Like how the fans called for 7-8m on boeser, Meanwhile JB got him at 5.875?

Yes and he really crapped the bed on the Demko contract. If there is nothing to complain about today, some have to dwell on past mistakes.

Because Benning ran out of time on his first swing at OEL.

Oh, it's like you have BDS, Benning lives rent free in your head?

Very Trumpian.
