wow... a 3rd round pick is a steep price to pay.. but he's a proven figher who strikes fear into opponents... that's something we've been lacking for so long!!!! ever since Brashear left us... >_<

We can just sign Nick Ritchie and not have to pay a 3rd.

Got to add Hamonic to our list.

And if Coleman is gonna be there, then Miller and Myers have to be as well. I don’t think we’re too far away from where we need to be regarding “toughness”. Not to mention Pod, even though he’s a rookie, has gone toe to toe with adults before.

Would love Ritchie. Good net front presence, can play hockey and sticks up for teammates.

Don't forget Myers, Poolman and Dries can fight a bit too... but I do hope JB will pick up a big tough body to upgrade our 4th line a bit..

LW Nick Ritchie is still available. He had a good year with Boston, used as a net front presence on the PP. Imagine him and Big Mac on the 4th line with Schenn and Hamonic on the back end.

Oh man... looks like JB wrapped up most of his work this summer.. all quiet now on the FA market haha... I doubt he'll dip into the FA market anytime soon to bolster the current roster as $ is getting tight to extend Hughes and Petey's contracts!

My question is why has he not been snapped up yet?

Cause he’s not that good…

Benefited from a good Boston team and probably priced himself out of the market.

If Big Mac can earn a regular spot this coming season he plays tough and can handle himself in a fight when called upon. No need to give up any more picks for a guy like Ritchie.

Ritchie is a free agent.

Wouldnt cost anything more than cap space.

Welp. NVM my the main non-point of my post. LOL.

BIG Mac can still get the job done and likely at a cheaper cap hit.

over-rated player

the problem with looking at the surface stats of a VGK bottom six - is their unconventional forward group/usage.

a 4th liner getting 58.3% ozone starts - is an outlier - on a team (an expansion team that could take 30 middle six and #4 forwards) - where the top 6 veterans are your penalty killers / 'hard minutes' guys...

overpayment for the rights for a one-dimensional bottom six grit forward that can't even kill penalties or play hard minutes for you imo - and hard to imagine him getting anywhere near that 20pt career high mark....
