I have to think they stay in the west---KC, Portland, or Houston are probably pretty likely landing spots. I'm betting Houston though. Watch, they will move it to Toronto to get that second team they have dreamed of, and have them play in the Western conference to set up an all Toronto Final, which will never happen as neither team will ever get past the first round of the playoffs.
Gurn
Probably just move the team back to the other arena, in the Pheonix area iirc. The league will not want to move out of such a large television market, even though few people actually watch on tv.

They may need that extra cash for moving expenses... That expansion money cash from Vegas & Seattle must make for a great retirement fund for the owners. Popular Post King Heffy
Portland would be great for us, as they would likely switch divisions with Vegas. 7

VegasCanuck
It's possible they stay in Arizona, but move back into Phoenix area, the team would be able to generate a much better fan base there. The building in Glendale, was not well thought out for fan access. Personally, would like to see them move to either Houston or to Portland. (Sure, the pandemic forced the league's hand in that, but there's no reason why Alex Meruelo wouldn't just say, "&^@# all y'all" and shut the team down and write off the losses.) Before that would happen, the league would revoke the franchise leaving him empty handed. I bet the league is already counting on some decent coin in the form of a relocation fee. Yes, the team could have been run better. But take it from somebody who actually lived there. The majority of people in Arizona don’t care about Hockey. They care about Football, Baseball, Basketball, and Golf. The population in the Greater Phoenix Area has exploded in the last few decades, and they still can’t draw enough people to fill the arena even half way most nights, and that’s with discounted tickets. I used to try to get my friends down there interested in Hockey but the majority could care less. Most of the seats are snowbirds escaping the Canadian winters. You can’t sustain a team like that. The NHL has been trying to grow the American game for decades, and a lot of cities have done quite well. The problem is the league tries to force it in some areas that just don’t work. They become pot committed and unwilling to admit defeat. It’s time to give up on Hockey in Arizona. Move the team to a Hockey city like Quebec with fans that actually care about Hockey. 1 2 1
Alflives
So does this mean the team has to move? They’ve got one more season, and then they have to find a new rink, right?
Mj2345
I know Sacramento CA is never mentioned but they have one of the nicest Arenas in the NBA and it’s only about 3 years old…I’m pretty sure it could host NHL Team but I’d rather Portland.,I don’t really care for Houston even though the Rockets owner wants an NHL Team.

They moved to the suburb of Glendale to attract more fans and that still didn’t work. Time to try elsewhere.
