Good Poll Elias Pettersson.  The reason i like this one the most, is there are no wrong answers.    Back when i was young, there were very few players i didn't love on our teams.   Butcher was one of my early favourites.   Guy got his nickname the right way - the Strangler...He also got traded which hurt at the start.   But Ronning, Courtnall and Momesso changed my mind quickly enough.   Momesso was a great middle six player for us, wish Pearson was like him.   Or anyone really.   Babych was a stud.   Guy would one arm glove half the forwards that came into the zone, move him to where he wanted them to be, and then do his thing.    Even liked guys like Ryan Walter.   Because i knew he was a former great Hab and near the end of his career, and did his best every shift.    The House... well you don't get a nickname like that unless your well, a house....

Right now i enjoy watching Myers ever shift.   Stoked we got him and still am.   We shouldn't be so concerned about cap when it comes to this sort of thing at all.   It doesn't matter how much they get paid - it's just so you identify with them?  Gino and Smyl... Scotty Walker ... a lot of folks loved Rypien as do I - heart matters.   QHs - well damn he's a little dude, look what he's doing .... survived and he's a freaking defenseman lol... that's inspiring.   Thing Garland won't take long to be a fan fave too... and Dickinson - i noticed him the same way i noticed Ferland vs us during Dallas run.

Overall - well thanks again for the fun late summer stuff Elias.   Just one favour to ask... can you sign already so we can get on with it!

This is how I felt about the '94 team too....no wrong answer/lots of favourites.  Trevor of course but Bure, Ronning, Gus, G Courtnall, Lumme, Gino, Captain Kirk, Hedican, Gelinas.  Just loved that team and their never say die attitude.

Yes.   For me it ripped my heart out with Messier and Keenan, but i didn't give up hope and still went to games when i could.   Back then and during the WCE era, my life allowed me to watch more games then before or since.    Wasn't the same though.   Glad i got to see some games with white boards in the Pacific...  One game I splurged and went front row seats in the corner lol...Tim

Hunter flipped pucks at my face during the warm up and skated by with a grin after.   And man did they ever finish their checks in the corner boards rattling lol.  Won't ever forget it (WNP)...we won.   Why i defended LE several times while he was here as well.   There was a time, as soon as you put on the Canucks jersey, you just were one of us.   And Hunter was a mean S.O.B playing for the Flames who i grew to despise.    Nice to have him on our team though.   Made a difference playing against TO in 94, took them off their game a little.   He wasn't the same then but that sort of leadership was great to have.    I get why younger fans might like Stetcher, Hutton, or whomever.   It's neat.   Diduck wasn't here long either but what a find by Quin. He did an amazing job assembling a team that knew how to win come the post season.    Teams we lost to went and did some serious damage, and our series were considered great ones - CAL 89 still talks about us.

I know that feeling!  So damn awesome!  Used to sit on the glass and Burr did the same to me...this is the picture my friend took RIGHT before he blasted a shot that knocked my stuff off the ledge!  Then he did a lap and grinned and tapped the glass as he skated by.  (My friend knew him and said "I tried to warn you about putting your stuff up there").

Bos my favorite player. Favorite since Kesler.

I'm surprised he's 2nd in votes after all the criticism on CDC.

What I love about him is he's no nonsense/all business.  Lays low but just gets the job done when needed.  People slam him  but he comes through when it really counts.  No fuss/hoopla....just do what's asked of him.  Hard not to pick him...he doesn't get all the fanfare but definitely is a leader by example.

Sadly Canucks fans, turn on players a lot it seems.

Two years ago fans where raving about JT Miller. Now there's trade proposals for him all the time.

Jake took a lot of flak, now that he's gone it will be interesting to see who CDC claims as the new whipping boy.

I'm going to bet it's Myers or OEL.

Historically I would have picked OEL, as he was my favorite non -Canuck player for years, but not as much recently,  although I'm excited for him to hopefully bounce back with the Canucks.

But I picked Brock Boeser,  he's a stand up guy, and performed admirably last season after a rough, and injury filled sophomore campaign. He was also the first Benning draft pick I got really excited about. Before Petey lined up Brock and Bo were doing it all. Now we have a a lot young exciting players and a couple prospects in the pipeline that are fun to watch and each year the decision gets harder and harder.

I'd give you a Brock upvote emoji ... but we don't have one  ... yet.    Can't wait to see Podz get one too... 100% it should be Drago from Rocky IV.     I voted Demko, not because he's my favourite, i really couldn't choose right now, but purely based on his importance to the core.    If i had too i'd be hard pressed to choose between some of the kids and some of the vets.

Edit:  Can say, during the bubble, a few played stood out to me.   Horvat, Motte and Myers.   Also liked BB game, he wasn't on the score sheet as much as others, but the kid took hits to make plays and was all hustle throughout.

Nice list....

Must admit I find it hard to seperate them like this. They all have certain treats...

Only ones I'd put at the bottom, would be players, who never shows an effort... drives me mad. But yes all I ask for is effort, then they'll be at the top of my tree...

Sadly you're probably right... those two name together with Poolman and Pearson springs to mind.

I'm pretty old myself but I don't remember those guys really, but that's a testament to how hard Hoggy plays if we need to go back to the 80's or earlier to find another Canuck who played as hard.  I expect Podz to make this list as well or at least I hope he does, Motte is up there too.

Not surprised you don't remember  Boudrias as he played for us from 70-76, but surprised about Smyl who was here from about 78-91 and was our captain for awhile if memory serves. Hope you're right about Podz!

I remember Smyl but I was in my early teens then and don't remember how hard he played, Most of my Canuck memories are from the Pavel years and up.
