Are you serious? Dahlen demanded a trade because he thought he was NHL calibre at the time. JP Barry even admitted that a trade had been initiated by Dahlen. And when that happened with SJ, he still couldn't crack their crappy lineup lol. So SJ actually confirmed that Dahlen was AHL material at the time.

Then he bolted to Sweden for two years. The guy hasn't proven anything in the NHL and you're whining about Dahlen?

Seriously?

He was a kid when he “demanded a trade” but could have been easily finessed by anyone with decent social skills.  Much like the Oilers Puljujärvi,  they didn’t throw in the towel when he demanded a trade.  Kids need to be finessed sometimes.  The Oilers will no doubt benefit greatly from showing patients with the kid.

JP Barry is not a no-name agent. He will do what he can do to please his client. At the same time, he has a pre-existing relationship with many, many GMs. He will not simply demand a trade on a player's behalf unless all options are exhausted.

Dahlen demanded a trade after not even one full year of the AHL. He didn't wait until the offseason to train and audition for a Canucks role. He wanted his role yesterday. Seemed like he had to eat humble pie after SJ thought he was an AHL player as well, which confirmed what the Canucks thought about him.

Dahlen messed it up. He could've had a chance to play with Petey. It was so disappointing because I thought it would have been a pretty cool storyline.

Your use of the term "finessed" in this context is really weird.
