I guess Di Giuseppe did enough to beat out Gadj for that 4LW spot

For a guy I wasn't really expecting much from he's been really solid. Nothing special, but reliable.

no kidding, he's one of the hardest working, versatile, most consistent players in the lineup.  He's a guy you want out there playing top 6 mins

Pearson gets a lot of flack, but he brings a rougher and more rugged dimension to the top six that seems to go unappreciated at times. His game is going right to the net, which you think would be more appreciated given how people like to fuss about perimeter play. Putting him with Bo, who can also play a tougher game, isn't a waste of Bo's talents, and I think that'll show when you give them a skilled running mate like Garland/Podz/Hoglander as opposed to Player Name.

Having Pearson, Bo, and Miller in the top six is a good thing. None of em are shrinking violets and you need that if you're going to score goals different ways. Even Hoglander plays hard, and Garland seems feisty. It's a good thing to have.

Little bummed Gadj got waived. Understand due to injuries it may have put the team in a tight spot but I really hope he goes unclaimed. He's got a nose for the net and just seems to rack up points no matter what

Same, I figured he'd beat out Mac. Guess we'll see what happens, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him clear. Teams don't seem to poach from each other very often during preseason, as they've got their own guys to sort through and get through waivers. I don't think most teams are going to take more of a question mark over somehow they've had in their own training camp, because they've got to keep that question mark in the big leagues to retain him.

Not sure how that works, is this true? Interesting they called it a loan and not assigned or demoted.

No idea if this is true but I wonder if "loan" is used because the player with an NHL contract does not need to clear waivers and can be provided directly to the AHL team whereas "assigned" means that the player with the NHL contract is designated to go to the AHL team but could be picked up off waivers?

So Gadjovich sent down, not surprised.

So up front were looking at 10 guys left with 4 spots to fill, plus an extra.

Miller - Pettersson - Boeser

Pearson - Horvat - Hoglander

???? - Dickinson - Garland

???? - ???? - ????

I'm thinking for sure;

Podkolzin (3W)

Di Guiseppe (4W)

Dowling (4C)

Highmore / Lockwood (4W)

Petan (extra)

Last spot comes down to Lockwood or Highmore, assuming we keep 8D (I think we will)

I like Lockwood's game more but Highmore is better on the PK, & Lockwood may benefit from AHL time.

I think it comes down to the wire but they send Lockwood down for more playing time.

----- cut ----

Lockwood

MacEwen

Bailey

Dries

Focht

Did we actually keep Petan for a bottom 6 role over Gadjovich? :picard:

This team is going to be so easy to play against. Our biggest tough guy is now MacEwan who is an average fighter and can only play 7 minutes a night…

Who might get cut as well. I agree
