Lui's Knob
Called it. Benning type player. Sutter/Motte injuries to start camp (is Sutter going to hit LTIR with 'fatigue' issues I wonder...) Master Mind
Decent depth player, makes for better competition in camp. Good move.
Popular Post Devron
Guy annoyed me on Edmonton. So I’ll probably like him haha 2 5 10
canucklehead44
Chiasson is pretty good, scored 22 in 73 a few years ago and last season he was on pace for 16 goals. He got overpaid at $2.1M but league minimum he is great depth. He is a good power play add and plays physical, not a penalty killer.
Bure_Pavel
A big gritty winger that has won a Stanley Cup, id say he has a pretty good chance to make the team especially with Motte out to start. Has 101 Career NHL goals under his belt. Not sure if he was fully healthy last year though and if he is back to 100%? King Heffy
Was pretty good in Dallas.
Fanuck
He's big, experienced, versatile, got a little bit of scoring potential, and won a cup with Wsh - this seems like a low-risk opportunity for JB.
Captain Canuck #12
Looking at the UFA list and seeing Bobby Ryan sign a PTO with Detroit yesterday, Chiasson looked like the only mildly interesting forward left, so I'm not too surprised. I am surprised that he doesn't kill penalties though, since that's what we need in a replacement forward now. He has decent size, but I have to say that I always thought he'd play a more physical game than I recall him playing. Hope he picks it up in that area if we do sign him. Bad_BOI_pete
I kind of thought we would should sign one more depth player, Chiasson is a solid grinder on the fourth line. Imagine a 4th line of motte sutter chiasson. im not sure if i'm, druling because of the line or because of the freezing in my mouth.

JM_
was hoping for a C PTO, but sure why not? low risk move. Puts some pressure on Big Mac. maybe Staal is an option?

Rabbit
Good addition, create internal pressure for bottom wingers.
BabychStache
I like it. Potential for Motte replacement, or at least somebody to push other players a bit. Good player.

SID.IS.SID.ME.IS.ME
Chiasson can also kill penalties. He didn’t do much PK work in Edmonton, but was a regular penalty killer (mostly playing on 2nd units) in his previous stints in Ottawa, Calgary, and Washington, and he actually has pretty decent career PK analytics.
EternalCanuckFan
My recollection of Chiasson is that he's a reasonably effective bottom 6 forward who has enough offensive ability to fill in a top-6 role from time to time. Decent skater for a tall guy. Tall but not really "big", although he is listed at 208 lbs. My guess is that with injuries, Chiasson may push a guy like MacEwen not necessarily in terms of play style but in terms of ability to contribute in a bottom 6 role.
