Well if you listened to the Toronto media it was going to take 9-10 mil to get him signed. This deal is not a bargain but it’s fair. We shouldn’t expect every contract to be a discount. No way you get a player putting up his point totals locked in through most of his prime for less than 7. That was Canucks fans being unrealistic. If Hughes is able to bounce back to year 1 or better it'll be a decent deal. Hopefully he doesn't get bullied like he did last year. Pettersson is a good deal. I like the bridge deals because after the bridge you can lock them up right until the end of their prime.
