Phil_314
Based on what I remember from the bubble series, the Sens get a massive and physical winger (10 goals and 16 points in 52 games this past season isn't bad for a 3rd line guy either) so I wonder why the Blues dumping him after trading Blais and a pick for Buch (unless they're moving on the slow grinding style to a more skilled game?). Master Mind
Good move for Ottawa. Brown wanted out, and Sanford has cup experience to help mentor the younger players. He was a notable factor in the final vs Boston. 1
4petesake
St Lou should be cap compliant now, good move.
King Heffy
Change of scenery should help Brown.

ruilin96
Remember the Sens had to give up a draft pick to move up 1 spot to draft Brown in the 2016 draft? Now they have to give up another pick to just move him. Imagine if Benning did this, Canucks fans would be calling for his head.

Yeah, the hypocrisy of the anti-Benning crowd is evident, as you highlighted here.

I was anti Benning for basically almost everything he did last off season. E.g. letting Tanev, Stecher and Toffoli walk. Didn't work hard enough to get rid off Beagle, Roussel those bums etc. I am glad he got rid off the bums and brought in quality players who can actually play in the line up so I am going to give him a chance this season. Brown is on a 2-way deal that pays him 100K in the AHL and 750K in the NHL - not really an issue to send that contract to the AHL if need be. The add was because Sanford is the better player. N7Nucks
Brown is a playmaking center that uses none of his size and is terrible in the faceoff dot. Guy is sub 40% in his career 30 game career. Might help to get outta Ottawa though. At 23 years old time is ticking, he needs to start getting reps. 30 games played in 4 seasons at 11 minutes a game is not gonna help. But, a good portion of that is because of his sub par play. Looking at St Louis' center depth there's absolutely no way Brown gets utilized at center in the starting lineup. He's a depth pickup at best unless he plays wing. Some centers hate playing wing though. Ottawa might not even have to pay the 4th round pick too. 30 games for Brown, he's barely played 30 games in his career and like I said their center depth is really good. Sanford is a good pickup for Ottawa and didn't cost much. Physical vet with cup experience. People poo-poo Beags but I think he did his job magnificently. Was just overpaid. Don't do what Toronto is doing, you want to add good two way physical players to work with your stars. Not add a bunch of soft one way scorers. It's a good way to be a perennial 1 and done team. I guess not really a " prospect" anymore , but a kid with allot of potential that was highly thought of in that draft. He's only 23 . Wouldn't say "who" exactly ". FlyLow_
I like Sanford, Ottawa did well here. I don't see it with Logan Brown, good for them for cutting bait rather than trying to force it for 6 years.

He’s a bustaroo bonsai. Never heard of the other guy. It’s waste of a thread trade.

I'd gladly have him on the Canucks, he's the type of depth player you win with.
