Los Angeles Kings - Wikipedia

The Los Angeles Kings season has come to an end, and what a season it was. While we still held a playoff position, near the bottom in the wildcard mixes, we finished our entry examination of the club and realized in time that we could not compete for a cup with our build at the time, however, we turned those lemons into lemonade, rebuilt our cap structure and built our club depth from the ground up in about a year of being the GM of the club.

Sad to say, on some levels, but amazing on other levels, our season highlights are literally getting our house in order. Not only in creating a decent cap scenario going forward, but in fleshing out the club depth to almost a full 50 contracts, and accumulating NINE picks in the coming draft: 2 first rounders, 2 second rounders a third and three fourths, plus a fifth hanging there near the end.  Next summer we have stocked up 2 firsts, 2 seconds, a third, a fourth and two fifths.

All while keeping an even keel on average points, not enough to hang onto our tenuous playoff spot, but enough to keep us in the mix for next year.

Younger, cheaper, deeper, keen on building from the draft. Your L.A. Kings will not disappoint in our continuous push to be better for now and for the future.

Best of luck to all the playoff bound clubs, I am going to enjoy watching, and planning. Our work to retain talent for next year begins today, as we do a final line by line team audit and make our offers to pending UFA's we want to keep in the coming weeks.

Cheers Puck League GM's up and down the standings, great league with good folks.

Very much looking forward to seeing Askarov over in North America. So proud to see him make the journey over after all the craziness in Russia and Ukraine. He is a phenomenal goalie and we hope one day a STL Blues legend!

Montreal Canadians – Season End Presser

When I took over as GM of the Montreal Canadians, we had our hands full to make this team a competitive one. A bottom 5 team in terms of offensive power that has missed the playoffs in the last 5/6 years. We had a top 6 including Nicolas Deslauriers, Christian Fischer, and Tomas Tatar.

My personal GM style is guns a blazing and when we took over on March 28th 2021 we took advantage of a the trade deadline to change this team from the inside out. As we know Montreal fans tend to be impatient and a long, slow rebuild is not in the books for a Canadian market.

We completed 31 trades in 12 months and are very proud of the team we have created. We have a great mix of playoff players and youth. The only real difference for us is we lost Freddie Anderson prior to the playoffs and we got no points from goalies.

We plan to roll into the next season with the same squad except for a few 4th line players. We will mostly be quite this offseason but am always willing to listen.

Thanks for the other GM’s for a great season and looking forward to 2022/2023.

Good luck to @pmalina  @BarkovTheCat @Phil The Thrill @Canuck Surfer on your race to the championship. All 4 are worthy and it's going to be a great to see how the series break down.
