Kid looked really good.  Fills a much bigger need in the lineup than OJ did.  I think Lammikko may show enough to stay in the lineup when Motte and Boeser return.

No doubt.

Miller, Pettersson, Boeser

Pearson, Horvat, Garland

Hoglander, Dickenson, Podkolzin

Motte, Lammikko, Chiasson/Dowling

Yes please.

That lineup is deadly.  I like Highmore on the 4RW more than the other 2, but the rest is just how I'd draw it up.

Highmore skates fast and.........

Chances are we probably swap Podz/Chiasson there but I think the coaches like Chiasson, and even with Boes back, he likely plays net front on PP2.

Can't seem to recall, but who was playing PK with Dickenson last night? Motte/Lammikko and ____/Dickenson  as PK F's. Pearson or Podz with Dicky?

Lammikko is a big boy.  Probably 6'3" 200+ pounds.  Plays the way you want a 4C to play and has some offensive jump as well.  We are all going to like this guy.  Will be our best 4th line player for sure.  He could probably move up to the 3rd line as well when needed.

Lammikko and Dickinson will be our 2 most solid PK'ers I think.  Motte of course is right there too but he is so injury prone that I don't think we can rely on him for the full year.  He will also be a UFA next summer so not sure if we will re-sign him or not.

Anyways, Green was never going to give Juolevi a chance so I'm glad we got Lammikko and Juulsen is a sleeper who may get called up a some point this year.

I actually like the trade. Lammikko is still young too and everything I read about him was positive. Given what he has shown thus far and being only 25 he still has some potential to grow. Jay Beagle's best offensive season game at 30, Malhotra had 8 years in the league before breaking out a bit offensively. I don't see him being a 50 point player but his ceiling being very good 3rd line forward who can put up 30 points.

I really like Juulsen and he was a player I was interested in at the draft. Like Juolevi he has had a lot of injuries but before taking a puck to the face he ha 5 points, +3, in 17 games which is a solid stat line. Since then he has had some major headaches that have hindered him. Head injuries are really scary but different than say a hip or knee injury which will make it harder to get to 100% if it doesn't fully heal.

So when Sutter is back and if everyone is healthy, we have the luxury of not knowing who sits in the press box.  It's been a long time since I've thought this.  Chiasson didn't look out of place to me and he seems to be filling a need.  I like the fact that JB is willing to take some chances to bring in players who fill a particular need vs being the best 5-on-5 player available.  There's specific deficiencies this club has had for some time and building a team requires bringing in a specialist here and there.

Frankly wouldn’t bet on Sutter getting back. Season is long with Olympics so maybe but long-COVID is hard to predict. Have seen people struggling for over a year.
I think the Hogz-Lammiko-Podz line is an inevitability at some point and will be a tonne of fun. Motte-Dickenson-Highmore as shutdown (man that right wing would be good spot for Lockwood).  If Sutter makes it back, slide into centre and Dickenson to R wing.

Highmore - Lammiko - Motte will be a good, high motor 4th line who will stay involved in games because they're also gonna be 3/4 of the PKers (plus Dickie). Juho doesn't have the FO or goal scoring ability that Sutts does but he brings other attributes, he seems faster at this point and seems to utilize his size to possess the puck better than Sutter does, even though they're about the same size. He's still an upgrade on last year's version of Jay Beagle IMHO. A couple of mistakes but he wasn't with the team during pre-season, so he's fit in pretty well considering.

Lammiko is a great add to the team and as mentioned above, once he gets to know the boys hell just be getting better. Looks to be a great bottom 6 with boys that can jump in from Abbotsford. a couple of those bottom 6 could definitely jump up to fill a 2nd line need incase of in game injuries and not look out of place.

This kid plays with a lot of energy, perfect bottom-6 player and fills a key role of future bottom-6 centers that we've been lacking as well. Beagle and Sutter out, Lammikko and Dickinson in has been a refreshing replacement and an injection of energy to our pretty sluggish/slow bottom-6. He's making Juolevi look pretty expendable day by day.

If he scores any points or goals that would be a nice addition but so far so good!

From what I’ve read Juulsen’s head injury is fully healed from over a year ago. He doesn’t get the headaches any longer and his vision is 100%.

So I’m hoping he gets called up at some point. He would be an upgrade on Burroughs and his ceiling is as a top 4 Dman.

I'm super impressed with Burroughs and don't see how Juulsen sees any nhl ice unless there are multiple injuries.

I'm happy for Juulsen to be able to play in his hometown of Abbotsford and thankful that JB salvaged a #9 dman when we clearly would have lost OJ on waivers. As for Lammikko, I'm really liking his addition. Great motor, good size, plays a heavy game and good defensively. Looks like JB turned chicken poop to chicken soup.

That's harsh calling Juolevi chicken poop
