[Rumour] Blackhawks open to moving Dylan Strome

Recommended Posts

Quote

The Chicago Blackhawks are open to moving center Dylan Strome, who appears to be the odd-man out in Jeremy Colliton‘s opening night lineup in Colorado. Strome skated as an extra in Tuesday’s practice and was trending toward a healthy scratch against the Avs.

Strome, 24, has one year remaining on his deal at $3 million before becoming a restricted free agent. Last season, Strome collected nine goals and eight assists for 17 points. His first season in Chicago – three years ago now – Strome was nearly a point-per-game player with 51 in 58 games, including 17 goals.

From the Blackhawks’ point of view, they are not unhappy with Strome, but rather have a glut of centers now with Jonathan Toews returning, Kirby Dach and the offseason addition of Tyler Johnson.

Chicago certainly isn’t facing a pressure point to move Strome, but is actively listening to interest from other teams on Strome and will assess their options.

Strome has paced for 55 points over his last 156 games (3 seasons).

Maybe something could be built around Kravtsov++ for Strome and reunite the bros, give NYR the depth

Chicago's a bit thin on LD, I think one of those pluses could involve K'Andre Miller

NYR has been rumoured to be trying to move out Ryan Strome. I don't think they're looking to double down on the Strome bros.

K'Andre Miller has been excellent for NYR. Not a chance he'd be a "plus". Chicago would have to add.

I'd think someone like Tarmo Reunanen would be a sort of plus in this situation where he had a solid AHL season, but has kind of fallen in the depth chart with solid young prospects surpassing him.

With that said, not sure with the Rangers being interested. Especially for a brother's reunion type of move as it seems like they're looking to move out Ryan Strome (due to cap reasons I imagine).

If only we had prospects and could trade from a position of strength and depth….

A package of Lind, Gadjovich, and Juolevi might have netted us something.

Feels like Benning is too impatient to unload some of these young guys sometimes. Sometimes it’s better to wait for the right deal than to force one.

The day the Canucks drafted Hughes, Juolevi wasn’t going to work out in Vancouver.

Gadjovich is marginal. Lind was waved by Seattle.

Reaching.

Why would we need to trade them for Strome then? This is just an opportunity for people to $&!# on management even if it doesn't make sense.

You can have extra depth in one position to trade for a need in another one…

That is literally the basic of every hockey trade.

Not sure the concept is that complicated.
