Why do you say that? We won despite Green 1

He’s clearly not comfortable with Hirsch either - who to me seems harmless (if a bit annoyingly rambly at times.) The almond reply was brilliant though. Saved Hirsch's bacon there.

You'd have to consider that. Aha! One of the Trade Hughes cohort! And yeah, I’d consider that trade…for a fraction of a millisecond. Hughes completely controls the game, tilts possession so far in our favour it’s unbelievable. Edited October 22, 2021 by Locke Lamora 2

"He's fortunate" You can't have it both ways The team won because: 1. Demko was very good 2. The hawks were really bad 3. The Canucks were a bit better than the Hawks who were really bad. Which of those are masterful coaching by Green? 2 1 2

ForestFalcon
Loving how 5 games in so many Canucks have gotten their first of the season. I'd say of those remaining without a goal, only Myers and Hoglander stand out, and I've been happy with what I've seen from them, it's really only a matter of time before Hog gets one. Yeah - to me I immediately read that as Shorty being uncomfortable with Hirsch’s history with mental health. But if we’re being honest - no one is going to cancel Shorty because rambly old Hirsch said “you always call me crazy” - and pretty clearly just trying to set himself up as the comedic foil to Shorty’s impeccably professional calls. Popular Post Ghostsof1915
To be fair to Hirsch. I think he's needing support from people. And he just might be his inner thoughts bubbling out. He's sort of self abusing, but looking for support all at the same time. The fact he's open about it, takes a lot of courage. Not many people can admit to things like depression and OCD, especially on a TV broadcast. As was pointed out, he needs to learn to keep quiet at times. But if it helps his mental state I'll put up with a bit of awkwardness if he feels better in the long run. How many people have mental health issues, and still go into broadcasting? You can't deny he certainly loves the sport. 6 10 3

And Hughes is amazing. He is probably mentally ‘peanut-sack hugging’ both Demko and Hughes. Both those guys are saving his job. 1

tas
Just now, ilduce39 said: This is very true. you can see it in their body language and the way they play. when they're confident, quinn and petey use their skill to dictate play and attack. when the confidence isn't there, they use their skills in a more evasive, tentative way. making dekes to try not to lose the puck rather than making a deke to get around a guy. the powerplay, too, when they're good, you can see the attack close in from the outside to attack the net, especially when millsy does his high loop to the point and back. when they aren't confident, they're stuck just sliding it back and forth around the boards. the talent didn't just go away. these highly paid, intensely competitive professional athletes don't "not care". the coaching is totally fine. confidence is an organic thing, and it's been gone since the training wheels (tanev, markstrom, etc) had to come off prematurely. they just need to regrow it naturally. there needs to be some sort of catalyst, and more stuff like burroughs stepping in for hoglander could help in that direction. 1

He talks too much and is definitely annoying but I could actually see him becoming good at it once he gets some chemistry with whoever he is working with.
