garthsbutcher
He needs a change of scenery, 6'3 center who was a stud in junior. Second round pick might do it at this point as hes becoming a healthy scratch.
Phil_314
He costs $3 million and is a pending RFA. We're also out of cap space and at least 6 legit centers deep (Petey, Bo, Miller, Dickinson, Sutter/ Lammikko). Who comes out of the lineup or how do we make the room for him? 1

If Green is gonna roll with Millsy at 3C then someone has to play LW and stop the bleeding on Pettersson's 27 percent FOW this year Strome would make the forward core incredibly deep All depends on what management actually knows about what will happen with that Hamonic money. Even if it's for the year and a playoff run they could trade his RFA rights in the summer if Hammer returns or w.e. Strome - Petey - Boeser Pearson - Horvat - Garland Hoglander - Miller - Podkolzin Highmore - Dickinson - Lammikko (until Motte is back) Canucks can either waive or give Chicago Chiasson Edited October 22, 2021 by Teemu Selänne
Junkyard Dog
Strome would be a better 3rd C if we want 3 scoring lines and he is 47.2% on faceoffs in his career. More of a playmaker than a scorer but he’d be good for our young players to play with and our 2nd unit PP. It really depends what the Hawks want. His value has dropped a bit but he’s likely still valued as a middle-6 C turning 25 this season.
King Heffy
He's already had a change of scenery. Most of his success is due to his chemistry with DeBrincat, which he wouldn't have here. I also think Chicago will make a coaching change rather than make trades due to lineup choices. Gagner is a good comparable. Edited October 22, 2021 by King Heffy
Alflives
Hawks might have to add to dump this guy. He’s overpaid for what he brings. “Just say no”.

Chicago, possibly Montreal, although I really wonder if they clean sweep Montreal and get rid of Bergevin and then start retool from the top on down. Vegas is another that could see a clean sweep if they don't turn things around fast.
Elias Pettersson
I don't think Strome is the answer to our needs. We need more of a two way right hand shot PK'er who can play 3C/4C. Strome is more of an offensive guy who would fit it more in the top 6. I don't see him as a strong bottom 6 forward. The only way this works is if Miller is our permanent 3C and Strome plays the wing with Petey and Brock. That could work, but it still doesn't address our PK and our need for a right hand shot. We basically need a player similar to Sutter at this point. I remember alot of people saying that we shouldn't bring back Sutter, but now it looks like we miss him more than ever.

PetterssonOrPeterson
He's been a scratch on a pretty bad hawks team. I don't know what that says about him as a player but I think he would more or less be the same player he is here, as he is in Chicago.
