[proposal] Canucks-Coyotes Blockbuster Part II

[proposal] Canucks-Coyotes Blockbuster Part II

I'm creating this proposal under the following caveats:

1) I know that this is unlikely to happen

2) I know that the Coyotes are likely going to try and build around Chychrun

But......I have some good news.  It's a slow day and I've got nothing better to do.

To Arizona:  Podkolzin, 2022 1st, Brandon Sutter

To Canucks: Jakob Chychrun

Miller-Pettersson-Boeser

Pearson-Horvat-Garland

Highmore-Dickinson-Hoglander

Dowling-Lammiko-Chiasson

Lockwood

Chychrun-Hughes

OEL-Myers

Rathbone-Poolman

Burroughs

Demko

Halak

So basically - the Canucks go all in for this year.   At the end of this season, JT Miller is moved for 1st or a good prospect in order to clear cap.  For those wondering about Quinn Hughes, he's equally comfortable playing on both sides.

Wishful thinking sir, we don't have cap and I think at least we send back either Hughes or Myers + 1st (which I'd still do).  No team can really go without a defensive core, and Chychrun is a big part of theirs.  Podz is also struggling to stay in the lineup, as is Sutter (due to injury) and that 1st (with Chychrun here) will probably be a late pick.  Not worth it for their franchise D.

We are seeing what Loser Chychrun truly is now he’s no longer sheltered by OEL.  He’s a ?Green Jacket piece of Monkey Crap.   Minus 9 already!  :lol:No froggin’way do we ever want this LOSER piece of **** on our team.  We got the two best Coyotes last summer.  They can keep their ****.

Chychrun and Kessel (deadline deal, reduced salary) - assuming we are contenders for the cup

2022 1st, Podkolzin, Sutter, Hunt, conditional 2nd if Kessel resigns

Ya sure.  We will give up greatness for serious crap.  No thanks.  Chychrun is a craperolla dumby.  Kissel is old, fat, and done.

Chychrun will be on his way to Toronto for Matthews once Dubas is fired, so we'd better hurry.

Doubt it unless Toronto retains and adds a high pick.  Matthews doesn't put up nearly as many points if he's taken away from the country club in Toronto where backchecking is frowned upon by the core.

Conditional picks based on a player re-signing are no longer allowed under the current CBA

Does nothing for us, we are pretty solid down the left side, so unless you’re sending them Hughes or OEL, I can’t see Chychrun being happy playing 3rd pairing.

I would say that Pods and a 2nd rounder would pull the trade off, and under no circumstances, would I trade Pods

My reasoning is that Quinn Hughes can move over to the right side since he's equally comfortable over there.

So,

Chychrun-Hughes

OEL-Myers

Rathbone-Poolman

I also have hesitations for moving Podz for obvious reasons, but you have to give something of high value in order to receive.

I seriously doubt Chychrun will be traded unless he requests one. They other player that I would be really interested in is Keller. They already moved Garland so they may be interested in getting rid of another long term contract.

Keller (1M retained) for Pearson + Klimovich + pick.

Despite Chychrun being a minus-9. He has only allowed 3 high danger goals against, and has only committed 3 turnovers. He also has a respectable corsi rating at 50% even, playing major of his minutes against the opponent’s top line. While being deployed in the defensive zone 53% of the time on the ice.

The Coyotes are a terrible team, to put it lightly. They’re dead last in goals for and against.

None of the blame should fall on Chychrun.

Where did you get the turnover numbers?   The NHL doesn't track them and they are so much more relevant than give-aways.  Noticed that he had 3 give-aways so could it be that you are listing his give-aways rather than turnovers?

Chychrun wasn't sheltered by OEL last season.  Looking at the minutes they played against the top-guys last season suggest the opposite.

Chychrun played upwards of 60 minutes vs MacKinnon while OEL played 18 minutes.  The rest of the D-corps didn't play any much more than OEL against MacKinnon.  It's Chychrun-Goligoski that got the tougher assignment of shutting down the biggest scoring threats.  They also got the Stone assignment in Vegas.

That feels quite insufficient for Chychrun.  Just look at what Seth Jones got.  Chychrun has developed into a D1.  Even saw projections that have him in the top-4 for team Canada at the Olympics.
