Basically 3 1sts for a heavily broken Eichel who almost certainly won’t return to previous form. They are lucky they got that. It’s not 3 firsts though. Krebs looks decent but I doubt Tuch ever becomes more than a 50 point support player. That pick ends up being 28-32. Whoopdie doo! 1
Drakrami
Wow what kinda crappy return is this. I was expecting way more. Not 4x1sts, but close. I am pretty sure Eichel will return to form after surgery and be a scorer machine. Does it make his team better - that's another question. Sabres should have let Eichel do the surgery and then trade him. May be some risks/things we are not seeing. Ilya Mikheyev
Meh, I'm not shocked by the lowish return. The situation compelled it - there was no way he was going to be a Sabre again, and even though it's likely he'll regain form, if he doesn't the 10M doesn't look so great. Sabres bungled the situation pretty bad and this is an OK recovery considering the situation
wai_lai416
So is Vegas gonna load up at the trade deadline keep eichel out till the playoff and pull a Tampa Bay 92mil cap?
Ilya Mikheyev
if Tkachuk + a 1st + a former 1st rounder were offered up vs. this, what you do take? Kind of surprised they wouldn't go with Tkachuk, unless the deal was pulled off the table. I wonder how Tkachuk moves forward knowing he was offered up for Eichel. Dude has a huge ego and I imagine it's bruised. Edited November 4, 2021 by Teemu Selänne

I swear the league manufacturers these trades for their favourite franchises. Somehow a team with no cap space just added a 10 million dollar superstar? Give me a break. Eichel he's never reached 90 - 100 points. His best season was 82 points in 77 games.

qwijibo
No salary retained by Buffalo. You have to think that factored heavily into the return Edited November 4, 2021 by qwijibo
Popular Post stawns
I'm obviously in the minority as I see this as a terrible trade for Vegas, who are already on their way down. Now, they trade Tuch, a blazing fast pfwd with good hands, a #17 pick (who many had pegged to go higher), next years first and a 2nd or 3rd..,......for an injury plagued guy who might never be the same and who's had some good seasons, but hasn't accomplished much yet in his career. 3

McDavid vs. Eichel, in the battle of Alberta, would have been neat for hockey. While in the East, it would have been brother vs. brother.

Actually his best is 19/20 season 68GP/37G/78points on pace for 44G/94points. That's top 5 in the league.

It barely makes them better now or in the future. Cant believe they held out this long for such a poor return. And now we’ve got another elite level player in our division. Might be the missing piece Vegas needed to get a cup. They get a very good young forward in Tuch, a 1st round pick and one of the top young prospect forwards whose breaking into the league in Krebs. Sabres could gave done much worse. 3
Ghostsof1915
Pretty sure LA or the Rangers could have provided a better return than that. And given them a higher 1st round pick. Buffalo is a joke.

EddieVedder
Brutal trade for Vegas. Sabres are going to look good with Cozens and Krebs leading that offense soon 2
