[Rumour] Eric Staal talking to 3-4 teams, could sign after US Thanksgiving week, league minimum $

Neither of us would know, but good chance, he ain't coming: what is JB, going to tell him about the Canucks to convince him to come ?   If he comes, then the Canucks, overplayed - imo; but who really knows.

No good team will want anything to do with him. And he knows that. Jim can say we are struggling and need some veteran leadership in the bottom 6. He got 42 goals in 2018

Must be an error.    he and his brothers all still spend their entire offseasons back home in thunder bay.

Would love having him here.

Staal has built a house in Minnesota and his wife and kids stayed there when he was traded to Buffalo.  He has spoken about retiring there.

But Minny might not want him.

Takes two to get a deal done. US Thanksgiving has come and gone, and he still hasnt' signed. Maybe he should remain retired...

Doesn't kill penalties. There aren't really any unsigned right handed centres who kill penalties available. Looking at the NHL list of right handed centres it is shocking to see Sam Gagner as 4th in SH TOI. That said there are zero available unsigned players that fit the bill, other than Demers on defense.

Ryan Carpenter, Mitchell Stephens or Jake Evans are probably the best options for guys we could acquire for a late pick or a downgraded pick mid round pick.

The Abbotsford Canucks don't even have a right handed centre that kills penalties.

There is a history of Boudreau and Staal, he played quite well under him in Minnesota. Could Bruce convince Eric to come up to Canada for the season?

Was thinking the same. Staal revived his career under Boudreau after a bad year.

Wonder what kind of shape Staal is in right now, but he might look good where on what was last night's Miller - Boeser combo rather than Dickinson, and have Dickie on the 4th line with Motte and Lammy

Dickinson was a hitting machine though… he got some good looks too…
