[Proposal] Van/NJ Van/Min

WCE

Recommended Posts

To NJ Hughes

To Van Graves, Bratt,1st rd 2022 & 2023

To Min Boeser & Hamonic

To Van Dumba & 5th rd 2022

Bratt takes Boeser spot in line up.

D-pairing

Oel Dumba

Graves Myers

Hunt Poolman

I would also consider moving Myers for a cheaper RD. Hunt needs to go as well. Looking at TB rosters only 2 players other than injured Kucherov are under 6 ft. Palat and Point.

Why would NJ ever consider that trade? A young top 6 winger, a huge top 4 D and 2 firsts for an undersized offensively gifted but somewhat one dimensional D.  Beyond Karlsson I can’t think of a player that’s netted that kind of return in the past 20 years.  You’re clearly overvaluing how much NJ would want to have all 3 Hughes brothers.  They aren’t going to gut the organization for what amounts to a publicity stunt

Dumba is not the kind of D that Vancouver needs.  He's an offensive D who is prone to defensive gaffes.   In Minnesota, he has Brodin that can cover for him defensively.

The Wild are top of the Central - this trade wouldn't even make them better and create a hole in their lineup.  Dumba's play is concerning (poor pinches and costly turnovers) but he's still an efficient pairing with Brodin.  Hamonic is not a top-4 D at this stage of his career.

It doesn't make sense from a roster construction standpoint but they also don't have the cap space.  They will have 15M in buyout cap hits next season.  Dumba is 6M - adding over 9M is simply not realistic.
