Fans attending Wednesday - please be civil

Fans have every right to be upset, but I hope that they can remain civil and classy no matter what the outcome of Wednesday's game. I'd hate to hear "Fire ----" chants or see jerseys thrown on the ice. The coaches and players are already struggling in a very public way and don't need another thing to stress them out. And Wednesday will be a national game - the country will be watching.

 

Think about how the players will feel - yes, they make a lot of money, but they're also under immense pressure everyday and are playing their hearts out. I'm no fan of Green as a coach, but he comes across as a genuinely nice person. And remember how Jim Benning mentioned that the "Fire Benning" banner affected his family more than it did him.

 

Please, no matter what happens, remember that the GM, coach, and players are human beings who are trying their best. Let's show that we are a classy hockey market who will support our team in tough times.

If ownership lets Green coach another game after his disgraceful performance so far, coupled with his refusal to be a man and take responsibility, they clearly need things to be made clear.  Green's continued employment is simply not acceptable and if embarrassing him on national TV is what it takes to replace him with an NHL quality coach, it's the fan's responsibility to do what it takes to get rid of that clown.  He deserves no respect after the way he threw the team under the bus.

I’m ok with some chants if the game goes sideways which seems likely. I’m just not down with following them into grocery stores that sort of thing. They are human beings and a chant is fine to send a message. Just don’t be dumb.

If the team $&!#s the bed and they've paid money to be there they can chant whatever they want. Do I agree with "fire x" chants? Yes and no. 

 

And realistically, most people attending games won't see this anyway.

Yeah, I'm not really concerned with what fans of other teams think of the Canucks situation. The majority of them cheered for the Bruins in 2011, so they can generally go (expletive deleted) themselves.

I think if the game goes sideways, which is a clear possibility, some general booing and mass exodus out of the arena is fair. No one is targeted specifically by a chant and a message of discontent is sent. I do agree that a chant of "Fire _____" is a poor way of showing discontent, as Green is only part of the issue here.

No, it is time to make this as ugly as possible cause it now looks that is the only way left to spur change with this ownership.

Take the gamble, this organization is already in shambles.

 

Start the chant before the game begins. Throw jersey and food all you want onto the ice. Time to burn the barn down!

Over 50 years, this fan base has spent billions on merchandise,  paid disgusting prices just to watch a game live , been taken advantage of at food stands after paying that disgusting price to get in the door , taken advantage of just to park their vehicles etcetera, regardless of 50 years of mediocrity.  

 

50 years without a championship,  and some of the worst prices in the league to support the team, all while keeping the stands practically sold out year after year.

 

I , you , and everyone else deserves,  and paid for better. I have no sympathy for a franchise that's taken this much of my time and money,  and hasn't provided what they said they would......year......after year......after year.....after year. 

 

Francesco didn't mind taking advantage of our wallets  beyond what's reasonable,  and wasting our time with empty promises,  so i don't mind making them uncomfortable.

Going to go ahead and disagree completely. 

If the team puts on another awful performance and management hasn't made any changes, say whatever you like, let Aqua know what changes you think should happen. Publicly demonstrate your frustration with the team. 

Yes these are human beings but its not like you're attacking them personally for who they are or something like that. They're all getting paid obscene amounts of money, and should be be willing to handle some pressure when they're not earning it.
