Where is Peng Shuai?

Well, I think we all know she's being tortured, threatened, and worse in the hands of her government.

We have Chinese Canadian athletes in the Olympics, Canada should boycott to protect them and let the CCP know their storied history of dissappearing people isn't something the world will accept. It's not okay to "re-educate" men and women through rape, torture and threats to their family.

The CCP has said she'll make a public appearance "soon" while heavily censoring anything about tennis and her in China. I can only imagine what the brave lady is going through.

Awful story.

My wife was just telling me about it.

I would totally support an Olympic boycott. The IOC is a bunch of corrupt mofos anyway.

Who cares? Unless the Canadian government and army plans on getting involved, we have no right to be involved in other country’s affairs.

What happened to diplomacy?

Do we really live in a world where it’s do nothing or go to war?

It shouldn’t take this terrible stuff about the young tennis player to know we should have nothing to do with this Chinese government, should it?

This young tennis player was raped by a higher up Chinese official.  She spoke up about the rape, and has disappeared.  The Chinese government is disgusting.  These are evil people.  They are Nazi bad.  We should have nothing t9 do with them.

I mean, Remembrance Day was only 9 days ago.... a lot of our grandparents felt that they had a pretty good reason to go overseas and get involved in "other country's affairs" and don't regret their decision.

You are, at best, a CCP shill. Ironic given that China's investment in broadcasting its messages through CDN AM radiowaves is a pretty phenomenal example of how it gets itself involved in other countries' affairs.

If you think that's sad, there are plenty of CCP sympathizers in the lower mainland. The irony being they moved away from their beloved CCP.

I think in fairness they do what they need to in order to survive. We'd do the same as citizens.

That government tho, you get the feeling they're working on whether or not they can survive pulling off a first strike on the US.

The WTA chairman is also threatening to pull the tour's Chinese events off their calendar. I hope they actually follow through with it. Even Novak Djokovic has expressed his support for the idea.

As long as 2700 or so nuclear war heads are “swimming” in the ocean around the globe.
Nuclear first strike won’t succeed and conventional one even if successful still won’t produce long lasting victory.

of course, but some nut job with a "hypersonic" missile in Beijing might see it differently. I don't think its a big risk, but the mentality in that gov't is freaky.

Chinese military is very disciplined and follows orders 100%, there is no choice really.

I still think that they would not use nuclear weapons first.

Even if they did, they know that Anglo Saxon coalition would mobilize rest of the world against them.

Chinese are smart, they look at things 100 years ahead, economy and technology is how they plan to “ conquer” the world.

I met a guy who is a major CCP sympathizer. It was an interesting conversation every time we talked. He spoke of Chairman Mao as if he was a deity, and he actually didn't like what's happening in China right now - "nowadays only the rich get proper healthcare or access to good education; the normal workers don't; in Chairman Mao's day..." He would quote Chairman Mao like religious people quote their holy book. I guess it's true what they say - it's not just the religious people who have "gods" in their hearts.
