When things are going JT's way he is great, but there are times where he acts like a lil bi**h out there and that is detrimental to the youth on this club.  Bo is the captain for a reason.

This^ he gave up for a bit last year when things were down. People seem to forget, were a better team with him obviously but I'm not against trading him what so ever. BO is the right man for Captain of this team.

Agreed. While it’s obvious we’re better with him then without, I don’t think the difference would be as big as some make it out to be. For example Miller is not the difference between making or missing the playoffs. Much rather keep Bo.

JT was leading this team even when Green was the coach.

He is a positive for the youth of this club.

Team guy with passion, drive and grit.

in all seriousness, I would consider trading Bo and then giving JT the captaincy and money he wants to stay here,

Bo to COL or NJD- imagine the haul

Bo and Hogz to COL for Newhook + Byram + 1st then sign E rod

Kuz Petey Boesser

MIller Newhook Milk

Podz E Rod Garland

Pearson Lazar Joshua

Lockwood

OEL Myers

Hughes Byram

Rathbone Schenn

Getting rid of Bo is stupid. Sorry man. Bo still has 6-7 seasons of high level hockey left before he becomes a role player.

So the teams record when Miller doesn’t score a point isn’t a frightening stat?

i think the point percentage is below 20%…

That's looking at the past. The Canucks have some new players, a full season of Boudreau, and JR/PA are going to continue to improve in areas moving forward.

JT Miller had a career year last season, no question.

I believe Petey and Boes are going to tear it up this coming season, with or without Miller.

Big deal. Who cares? We're a fringe playoff team with or without him. Let's aim a little higher shall we.

With Daley confident the cap will be going up a lot for the 24-25 season,  possibly mid 90s a ton of cap off the books next season, they need to re-sign him.

And not just because I think he's an integral piece either.

The fact is if we move him now we have a hole to fill. Possibly as soon as next summer there's going to be contracts signed that will be taking into account the cap will be at least 92 million (pre pandemic numbers but the numbers look better now, than before, due to the TV deal being a homerun.)

So in order to sign a comparable player, with multiple teams bidding, even if said ufa chooses us it will be a much higher number.

With the ability to do 8 years and JT willing to sign after a career year, possibly losing $ by not waiting, we get him at flat cap price, which will be huge since aside from Quinn the rest of the young core will be signing deals based off of a much higher cap.

8×8.5 for JT and 8×7.5 -8 for Horvat. Both easy to fit under the cap with all the buyouts, Loungo penalty, and contracts like Pearson,  Myers,  Dickenson,  coming off the books and being replaced internally.

This is literally the textbook example of poor business sense. I see people fabricating this cap stuff and spending money they don't have. Is there anywhere that they actually say the cap is going up that much? All I see is that it may or may not go up a little bit in 3 years. Maybe ... and even then that's far from a guarantee. Those dummies at Canucks Army are making stuff up to fit their narrative again.

And then on top of it you give him 8 years at 8+ and talk like that's a good thing?

Stefen Rosner from My Hockey Now covering the Isles with a proposed package for a JT Miller trade:

Mayfield (RHD), Bolduc (LHD), Holmstrom (winger) +   1st round pick for JT Miller (500.000 $ retained) and Luke Schenn. Isles would still have to waive one player like Panik to make the cap work.

I can't see that Canucks would bite.

Not really an attractive return, IMO

I'd probably rather have Schenn before Mayfield - due to him being an awesome team mate

And Bolduc, Holmstrom and a 1st for Miller?  Very underwhelming.
