Not really an attractive return, IMO

I'd probably rather have Schenn before Mayfield - due to him being an awesome team mate

And Bolduc, Holmstrom and a 1st for Miller?  Very underwhelming.

Love Mayfield rest of the return is underwhelming.

Stefen Rosner from My Hockey Now covering the Isles with a proposed package for a JT Miller trade:

Mayfield (RHD), Bolduc (LHD), Holmstrom (winger) +   1st round pick for JT Miller (500.000 $ retained) and Luke Schenn. Isles would still have to waive one player like Panik to make the cap work.

I can't see that Canucks would bite.

This seems like a fan randomly trying to offload scraps in return to a useful player.  I counter with, Poolman, Pearson, Dickenson, Hoglander, and Myers for Barzal or Dobson.

...or we could be more realistic and say Pulock and Raty for Miller.  They get the far better player but he is also not under club control on a decent contract like Pulock is.  We get a really solid partner for Hughes or OEL signed through his prime, plus the upside of a decent prospect.

Does absolutely nothing for us.

Bunch of scrubs for our best player. Although Holmstrom looks like a decent prospect nothing in that package helps us that much now or long term.

Lamoriello again repeated that they are a defence 1st team this week.  Trying to pry Pulock out of them seems really unlikely - it's also the 1st year of his deal with a full NTC.  They also scored more goals per game last year than any other season under Trotz - it's their defensive game that went down the drain which is why Lamoriello has continued to repeat that it's their top priority to fix in the off-season.

Is that NYI version of Raymond + Ballard + 2nd??

The question then is who, from the Metro, has the combination of cap/assets to effect a transaction?  Most of the potential teams are already over the cap and will need to use LTIR to be compliant. That means if there's a potential deal there's almost certainly a 'dud' contract coming back attached to other assets of some kind?

So true, Fanuck.  Canuck luck strikes again!

The team's that may still be interested (as per 2 in the Metro) are likely Islanders, Capitals and Devils.

The Devils have the best cap/assets situation, but are the least desperate to acquire JT.

The Capitals will have the cap huge LITR situation with Backstrom gone, but few assets. They would have to

include McMichael and that would be a foolish move.

The Ilanders have +2m cap and not too many assets.  This is a team that won't get far in their conferance

due to their mediocre offence.  They are in the same boat as the Caps, as a trade for JT would likely

include Wahlstrom and probably a cap dump.

I don't see a top 4RD in any JT trade, except Severson.

5 Hally, 7 Spring (biggest 23 but lost a 35-40 at the boat, old man played it perfectly just did a perfect shake and got away), 5 coho, bucket or so of crab off the charter. Then the next few days at the lake had 4 Cutthroat and 2 rainbows trolling on the boat, and then caught 1 absolute beauty Cutty bobbing off the paddleboard. Got skunked casting off the dock but I'm blaming that on the dog playing in the water the entire time and tend to have more luck early season before the lake warms up. Crayfish were kinda cold this year so didn't end up getting many at the lake, but still managed to get enough for 1 nights dinner when we had Steak and Mudbugs.

Sounds like a fantastic trip!

Any sea sickness?

Mayfield is better than Schenn but not a landslide.

I think a younger rhd than Mayfield (age 29) would work better as a longer term partner for Quinn.

Everyone but me. 4 of us went out, we go every year since I got married a ways back and it became a bit of a tradition. My cousin and his Dad have a soft stomach so it's pretty casual for them to yak. But it was a pretty rough day out, so even my old man had a spit after he pulled up his Hally. Something about leaning forward and cranking those up make some people sick. Dad's worked fishing boats and we fish a ton and that's one of only a few times I've seen him spit.

Dunno where I got my gut, but knock on wood, have never been sea sick in my days.

"VAN: JT Miller continues to be a hot commodity on the trade rumor market as it seems like the player’s camp and the Vancouver Canucks are in a negotiating standstill, and now it seems like there’s some teeth to the rumors even as he denied them earlier this summer."

I wouldn't listen to Vancouver media, so how would Boston media work?

? They scored 229 goals. Panthers #1 at 337, Yotes last at 206.

Lou can bs to the media all he wants because he never did what he had to do, Get offense. They need offense..

If we hear from sources all around the league about Miller’s name being out there… it is a lot more compelling than one guy in the local market speculating.

It is no secret that the Canucks have been trying to trade Miller, so not sure where the gripe is.

How about

To Islanders - LW/C - Miller 5,250,000

                    -  RW Nils Hoglander

To Van - 2023 1st round pick, 2023 2nd

             - RW - Josh Bailey 5,000,000

            - Left hand C prospect - Aatu Raty

             - Left hand D prospect - Cale Odelius
