Those 2 execs think that the deal is pretty fair and that's with Miller at 50% retained.

Those 2 execs also probably thought Yakupov was a slam dunk at #1 and that Nolan Patrick should have gone 1st overall

Exec 1

Hey, you know whats a good deal guys?  The team with the top forward in this years TDL with 1 full year left after this on his contract, at 50% retention for a player who might never come back to north america, a smaller LHD version of tyson barrie without the snarl (ya thats legit) and a meh 1st round pick at around the 23rd spot.

Exec 2

WTF, Who the hell is going to take that deal and get fleeced that bad?

Exec 1

That's what I think the Rags should do to the Canucks for Miller

Exec 2

Oh so we're still screwing them over?  Lol we did pretty good  screwing them with the Luongo thing so ya, this is a "great deal" for Vancouver wink wink

I hope Alvin blocks Durary's number until day of deadline.

That offer is a slap to the face.

Well, I think it’s also part of negotiations. It is a slap in the face in the sense that it’s a low ball offer for Miller.

Maybe trying to take advantage of a “new” GM?

But Drury maybe forgets that he’s actually dealing with JR

I get that, but what I'm saying is if that's what the execs feel Miller is worth, then it's probably worth it to just wait until next year.  The standard package for high end rentals is an NHL regular, a good prospect, and a 1st.  Not sure why we would accept that equivalent for a non-rental star like Miller.  We just wait until Miller IS a rental then and take a similar package then.

I agree, what is being offered NOW is probably what will be offered next year as well so why even bother?

If Benning were still GM, he’d probably take the offer Drury offers.

Jim B was that bad.

JR's advice to Guerin was make fair deals or you won't be making many.

Those 2 execs likely offered their assessment independently from each other.  They probably don't even know who the other exec was.

That's fine advice if you're dealing away Dickinson, Pearson, Motte, or Poolman, but you make deals for the sake of making deals with Miller or Boeser?  That's just asking for failure.

This team should be built from the net out with a franchise goalie between the pipes, there should be no questions there with Demko’s development. If we acquire picks we should try and stock up on players who can defend first and be able to transition the puck up ice quickly. If we do acquire a late first I would have no problem sending it with OEL to try and move him in order to create cap space even if we have to retain a bit. Myers comes off the books in 2 years and by that time hopefully picks and prospects develop enough to transition into roles on the team. The fact that OEL and Myers make roughly 2 million more than Doughty or Karlsson by themselves should not send the fan base into panic mode if we do indeed get stuck with them.

What did Kesler get under extreme pressure and only having one team to go to?

(C) Bonino

(LD) Sbisa

geez, Benning got hosed

So, Miller should get ______________ with several teams bidding?

I don’t really hear of any other teams bidding for Miller.

Right now, it seems it’s just the Rangers…am I wrong?

I still don’t think that Kravtsov should be a foundational player. There’s a risk with Russians. We got a good one in Podkolzin - a kid with a great attitude, and a willingness to put in the work to make it to the NHL. Kravtsov already has demonstrated that if things don’t go his way, he’d bolt to the KHL. He’s not a centre piece in any deal for Miller - at least if I were GM.

I would want Schneider 20, RD, 6'2 main player,  Kravtsov 20, 6'2,  1st rounder,  Barron 23

NYR-- Miller -- Motte-- 4th rounder 2023

Yeah. Benning got ripped off pretty badly.

And the reports were that he could have had Theodore, but chose Sbisa. Should have been indication at that time that he was going to be a bad GM.

Then those 2 execs are idiots.

A lesser return than what Tofolli just got?  Barely comparable to what Mantha got the Wings?  Palmeiri and Zajac?  Like, it's just not even possible to believe that the return for Miller WITH retention would be something NHL execs would consider as something the rags would turn down for that package.

If ANY team was offered a 2.675 million a year above ppg player, top 25 scoring forward capable of playing all forward positions for 2 playoff runs they'd take it and run.  But these execs think otherwise.....

Thing is, I don’t think Drury does that deal.

Seems and sounds like it’s very difficult to pry Schneider away from them. If he’s not included, then I say, nice talking to you, good bye.

Yeah we really need a solid offer from the Penguins.

Then it will be easy, give us Schneider or watch Miller sweep your Rangers in the first round.

Myers for all the criticism he receives from fans, has actually played pretty well under Boudreau.

I agree, but his contact is 6 million and he is overpaid still. If you could put 4 million into a top 4 Dman and 2 million into a bottom pairing Dman that would help out overall depth.

i think he's been great under BB (don't see why so many complain).... like if he was making $5m instead of $6m everyone would be happy with him ?
