Elliotte is on Tim and Sid right now and said 2 things that caught my attention.

1) Miller has the most interest and there’s going to be some pretty big and interesting packages as the all star game draws near.

2) There’s little to 0 interest for almost all of pending/restricted free agents to sign in Canada or waive to be traded anywhere here at all.

Well,  I don’t think an American Civil War is a conspiracy theory,.  Given they already had one,.  And there was an attack on the government earlier this year.

I’ll call you on this.

I work in a team environment for a very large organization. I would say there are probably 100 different teams that work in different areas.

I find that most of us choose to prioritize this when choosing where to work in this order:

1) a good supervisor (This case would be a good coach - check)

2) a good team (he seems to enjoy his team mates and actively tries to mentor them the best he can)

3) the work area (we have the prettiest city in the country with the mildest weather and close to the border for easy US travel). Some of the fans and media are stupid but I think most are good and I’m sure he gets that.

1. Correct

2. Nah, he(and Green) got Petey to loose focus with all their mentoring

3. After been with Lightnings and seen how much he gets of the salary in Canada he goes for the money first…

I'm not sure Miller is in the 8+ million club. When you look at players making that currently they are more productive than him. Not a knock on Miller I love the player, he's going to get paid but not with the likes of Draisaitl, Crosby, Aho, Stamkos among others...even the players who make less than $8 (Svechnikov, O'Reilly, Connor, Landeskog, Barzal) it's tough to imagine Miller making more than these guys even though the market price is rising.  He's not in at that tier you would think, although his value to a team will be somewhat subjective and will really depend on what that team deems his value to be. For me, he's in the $6.5-7 a year range.

I don't see anyway that Miller is staying in Van for 8.  I don't think he's staying at any price, but if he did, they'd have to far outbid teams in states with low taxes.

I think it's moot anyway as I have no doubt he wants out of Canada and back to his home country.  I don't feel like he thinks he's had a good experience in Vancouver

Where are all these feelings coming from? I mean you could be right.. just wondering.

When you mention contract comparables like Draisaitl, Crosby, Stamkos and O'Reilly, I don't see how you can even bring up those contracts when they were signed anywhere from 4-8 years ago. How does that even make sense?

And to say it's tough to imagine that Miller can make more than Connor, Landeskog and Barzal is absolutely ridiculous. What makes you think he is not on that tier? Have you been watching Miller play the past couple seasons?

6.5-7M for a PPG 1st line Centre/Winger who plays on the PP and PK? Get real.

Get ready Vancouver fans. Here comes a little something called asset management. We're not really used to it. Actually we're used to assets walking away for nothing.

Miller is an amazing asset. As good as it gets. He's worth so much to teams about to compete for the Cup, far more than he's worth to us currently. He's pretty much our everything and it sucks to lose him. However, our window to win isn't now and it probably isn't next year.

We're not keeping him. It would be 'Benning Dumb' to do that. He will fetch us a young right defenceman and a young big forward that will help make a more complete team for the future. Plus draft picks. It's going to be a big haul.

I think Miller is great and if our window to win was now, I wouldn't think about moving him. But it's not.

Timing is everything...

If you were an American traded to Vancouver, suffered through losing season after losing season, played very well, but paid well below your output, subjected to endless scrutiny by media and fans and pay way way way higher taxes on the money you do make than yiu would in the US...........would you stay?

Exactly.

Why would Miller stay?

Gone to the highest bidder.

Can’t really answer that, as I’m not in this scenario, maybe he likes the city? Lots of variables.

I don’t read of too many (if any) home grown threats to Canada.

Yet right now, real time in the U.S,.  Domestic Terrorism is a reality,. White Supremacy Groups are real, and a The biggest Democratic Country in the world is fighting to keep Democracy.

In a country without any real gun laws, and 160 guns per 100 households, where most have become desensitized to Mall Massacres, and Schoolyard slaughter on a weekly basis..

im happy here ,  WITH stricter Covid measures..

im sure there are others in this country, and other countries would agree with me.

Not me. I'd play in Florida any day.
