Unfortunately the main concern right now appears to be Benning and Green keeping their jobs rather than what actually helps the team most.

Not buying that narrative at all.

If Benning brings in a coach that can get this team on track, then he’s done his job. He’s brought in pieces for any competent coach to build a winning team with.

Blender is a blunder and not an effective long term coaching method or solution to the Nucks woes.

I think Benning is worse than Green but when your team is in 27th place you're arguing about poo from different piles.

More time for Benning and Green. That’s it. That is the entire goal of a trade like that now.

I don’t believe Benning is the source of the problem. I believe it’s completely on Green. He’s lost the room.

Makes sense. Canucks might not like his 7.5M QO. That QO will walk him to UFA the following year.

His QO will still keep him an RFA.

UFA is the earliest between age 27 and 7 pro years (40 games per season to count).  He will turn 25 this coming February and is in his 5th pro-season towards UFA. Needs 2 more seasons after this one.

Not buying into this rumour being valid, however if we did a hockey trade with Minny could we see Boeser traded for Fiala (Change of scenery deal) or Dumba (Greater positional need).  We may need to add for Dumba, however if we were able to pull that off:

Ekman-Larsson - Dumba

Hughes - Hamonic

Rathbone - Poolman/Myers

From CapFriendly...

What is an unrestricted free agent (UFA)?

A player becomes a free agent when their contract expires on July 1 after the last League Year of their contract. Any player who meets the following requirements becomes an unrestricted free agent (UFA):
  1. Is 27 years of age on June 30 of the contract expiry year
  2. Has seven (7) Accrued Seasons where an Accrued Season is earned when the player was on the clubs active roster for 40 Regular Season games (30 if the player is a goaltender). Games missed due to a hockey related injury will count towards an accrued season in the season of the injury, plus one additional season after the injury.
