mll
Vancouver is far more likely to save their season by retaining Miller. Why would Minnesota give up a 1st - they are in a rebuild. Fiala is available because they don't have the cap space next season with their massive buyout cap hits on the books. Miller plays a position of need. That's why they are suggesting a swap. It doesn't equate being interested in giving up a 1st though. Merill is more of a D7.

I’m 75% certain after watching clips and reading many comments on different platforms; that Miller is the problem in the locker room right now. The way he screamed at Hoglander, the way he throws tantrums, the fact there’s a rumours him and Horvat are having a power struggle over the room. Minnesota wants Miller bad to finally get them over the hump. Take advantage of that and nab a guy with massive potential in Fiala. As it stands now though there needs to be more added on their end and that’s why the 1st in in the deal. Merrill is an upgrade on Hunt as the LHD option behind Ekman-Larsson and Hughes (while Rathbone develops).

Are you referring to the goal he scored vs Vegas?

We lose some size, and a centre. What good is a winger when we don't have enough centres as it is? And Bo is already overworked on the centre position as it stands. Ek, Lambos, and 2nd in 2022, and 1st in 2023 or no deal.

The Wild are in a rebuild. They are building around Ek. Fiala is the one they are considering moving - not Ek who they are building around, not top prospects who they just drafted, not high picks. From Vancouver it's Miller that interests them. They are talking to other teams about Fiala too. The Wild will have about 15M on their books for the next 3 seasons - not the cap space that contenders have. They traded Kunin who was drafted 15th overall in 2016 - they wanted to get draft picks towards their rebuild.

The Wild want Miller because they are weak at centre and have wingers to replace Fiala. Rather than allocate money on wing (with their 15M buyout cap hits), it's more efficient to try and get a C that fills a position of need. NUCKER67
As much as I like Miller, I like the Canucks more. Miller is a gamer, and has a lot of value, but there's still something wrong with the team (the room). It seemed lighter and more optimistic before he got angry 24/7. They should trade him, try to get another 1st. Run with the guys they have, and maybe removing that negativity from the room will help them.

A source would be better but I’ve seen too many examples from fans who have front row seats talking about the players body language around Miller, to videos of him obviously screaming at teammates, etc. Why does everyone think we need a Center? Pettersson, Horvat, Dickinson, Lammikko, Dowling, Petan, Focht, Dries, Stevens. And even Di Giuseppe can be called up and play Center. When Highmore is back he did decent at center too. Doesn’t matter if Fiala is a winger.. he has huge upside. Bigger than Miller. He was a little Canuck killer a year ago.
