BO rejected it. He obviously wants more than what Miller is getting. Good for him. I hope some team gives it to him. Nope. Guys on 650 said the best offer to Bo was just under 50 total. So likely 7x7. We will sign Bo for exactly the same money as Miller (56 mil) but the term will be eight years so the cap hit will be 7. Bo has his wife and kids here. No chance he wants to move. He’ll sign. Mrs. Bo will make sure of it. Heck our owner will make sure of it. Maybe Mrs. Bo and our owner will hammer out a deal?

The Canucks aren’t going to wait until he’s almost a UFA to try and re-sign him. He either re-signs before the TDL or he is traded. JR already confirmed this many times. So, not "he wants out", just "he doesn't want to negotiate during the season". Do you have the source for what Bo said? I can't just share hearsay with others, as common as it is on CDC. But my question of source was a direct response to a poster who said he did. It sounded like you had some extra insight. And, I agree with your take on one side providing offers not being negotiating. Would you happen to have a source for when he spoke about not negotiating? His wife will be a very unhappy person if she has to pack up her kids, and the life they’ve built here. Deal is coming. 7 milx8 years. Guaranteed.

BO said on tv in front of the media that he didn’t want to talk about his contract until after the season. It was after the latest offer was leaked.

If Bo doesn't want to have those discussions with management until after the season then he needs to be traded. I think it is totally fair if he tells the media that he doesn't want to talk about it with them until after the season.

No way is Bo going to accept being paid less per year than Miller. So why not offer $8M x 7yrs?? It’s the same “total dollars”.

JeremyCuddles
Kind of a tangent here, but you know what's crazy? Patrice Bergeron has never had a cap hit above 7mil in his career. I dunno, just thought that was kinda crazy. Back to Bo, give em the Miller deal. If he says no, get the biggest haul you can get. Move Miller for literally pennies on the dollar. The cap space alone is worth it. Although you shoulda just traded him for a haul when a lot of us said you should have. But whatever. Just move him for cap space and whatever else we can get. Give that cap to Bo. Move Boeser and/or Garland. Target defense. I know it's hard to get this through, but we don't need more scoring wingers.

I think if he waits until he’s a UFA he will get 8.5-9x7 deal. Someone will overpay for him. It could be Boston. Or Carolina. Detroit has $40 million in cap space next year. As for what we get back for him, he would be traded as a rental at the TDL so you are looking at a roster player, a top prospect and a 1st round pick. BO to Boston for Trent Frederic, Fabian Lysell and a 2023 1st round pick. That would probably be your best deal on the table at the deadline.
