The whole buyout talk is just posturing so that teams don’t try and take advantage of our cap situation.

Buyouts would be the absolute last resort. I don’t think any of our players are that bad that we couldn’t unload them with retention.

Stillman?

:P

I’m thinking we are gonna keep Bo and sign him to an extension. These teams that are supposedly interested don’t seem to be willing to give up enough, just like when Miller was in this position.

Brock and Garland are the most likely forwards gone from our group by this TDL or in the off season.

Nah, JR's gonna trade him to Pittsburgh for Kapanen, their 1st, and Brock McGinn

He'll then proceed to make Kapanen captain, pop a bottle of champagne and spray it all over Francesco, and then retire during an impromptu press conference

Pittsburgh will then go on to win another cup and petition to have Rutherford's name inscribed upon it yet again

Yup.  I'm calling it.  We're re-signing Bo.  It's way easier to accept less for guys like Boeser than to accept less for a guy like Bo.  If we ONLY get a 4th round pick for Boeser, I think most people would find that a lot more palatable than only getting a 3rd liner, a B prospect, and a late 1st for Bo.

Lol! You should do movie scripts. This would be a dark comedy rated 96% on Rotten Tomatoes.

It would get 100% but Canuck fans voted.

Yeah.  Retaining $2M would be the way to go.  Provided there is a team that wants Garland.

Connor Garland at $2 million retained or $2.95 million ranks 23rd in the entire league for production vs AAV with that level of retention.  There would be plenty of teams wanting him at .5 ppg for less than $3 million.

Probably because they've already met enough in the past to know what each other's wants are.  Now it's just a matter of whether or not either side is willing to move from their position.  What's there to meet about?

And the teams wanting him should include the Canucks. As you mentioned, a 0.5ppg guy that traded would only open up only 2.95m in cap space. He is not the Canucks problem. He plays hard every shift and produces well when paired with other good players,

The guy that HAS to go is Boeser; 6.65m for a guy that does absolutely nothing 5v5, and simply gets over stated for playing the net presence on PP1. We have all seen how effective Kuz can be in front of the net; Boeser is now redundant. If you could ship him off for futures with no retention it would be a miracle.

As for Myers, what's the point at buying out or trading him with retention at this point. This team is destined to be retooling/rebuilding (whatever you want to call it) in 23/24; just let his contract ride out...probably be able to flip him a the TDL next year for a 3rd or 4th....hell maybe retain and get a 2nd. Only reason to move him earlier is you see a FA opportunity RHD available...fat chance.

100% CanucksArmy is a joke at the best of times. Click bait to the max

Quadrielli and Faber are really difficult to listen to on their podcast.

Appreciate Fabers committment to prospects, but ‘dawg ratings’ are not going to catch on, and Quads’ writing style  in the ‘statsies’ is too much for this 20 year Canucks fan.

I’m confused.

“Pat Morris, the agent for Bo Horvat was in town last week,” said Dhaliwal. “Did he meet with the Canucks about Bo? The answer last week was no. The answer today is no. There was a conversation between the two sides before the Blackhawks game, but that was not a scheduled meeting and Bo was not discussed. So the reporting last week stands. Pat Morris did not meet with the Canucks about Bo Horvat. There was never a scheduled meeting between the two sides last week. The two sides have not talked contract in two months. So the Vancouver Canucks met with Dan Milstein, Kuzmenko’s agent in Florida for six hours. They did not do the same with Pat Morris. There was no meeting about Bo. It’s time to move on.”

Regardless of there being a “scheduled meeting”, the cyborg did in fact talk to Bo’s agent before the Blackhawks game. What on earth would they be discussing if it wasn’t about Bo?

Cyborg “You know any good barbers?”

Morris “nope”

Cyborg “Cool, talk soon”

Morris “bye”

As if….

Dhaliwal is being a bozo
