[Rumour] Bo Horvat Trade/Contract Talks

What dirt do we need on Horvat to get him to put pen to paper on a RNH 8yr 5.125m cap hit contract...just the NMC?!? They will be the exact same age at UFA status, they had similar points last year in RNH's contract year. RNH is a PPG this year, Bo is not. so is that 8yr contract not a real good deal for both sides? Some will say the 7m that Couturier got is more of Bo's comparable.

Hopefully we get a new President and or GM and they try to lock Bo up this off season and if we still have JT, you reach out to his agent and ask what it would cost to keep him here, if the term and cap is outrageous then you TRADE JT Miller for the best return you can get, retain 50% salary if it brings more teams into play and ups the value.

Bo at his current cap hit is fine, don't like the act Pearson is stapled to his wing every night. Why have we not put BB6 back on Bo's wing, they did play together briefly when Brock came into the league and did well together, slide Hoglander or Podkolzin on the left side and that is a decent line imo...better than continually rolling out Pearson on Bo's wing

How does that help us?

Kerfoot is an average third liner.

Dermott is horribly overrated.

Amirov is a long shot prospect.

And the first will be around 20th.

If we’re gonna trade Horvat it needs to be for better futures than that.

Kerfoot is playing just as good as Horvat is and has great quickness and energy. There’s a reason the Canucks have looked at him twice before.

Dermott is only a 24 year old D-man with size, aggression, and skating ability; who’s been getting developed for years by the team that doesn’t understand defence and structure.

Amirov was the captain of his team in the QMJHL (Victoriaville) and has good upside. He’s also played with Podkolzin at the WJC.

Horvat is also a little overrated and has proven to be nothing more than a 50-60 point center with consistency issues and questionable leadership who for some reason gets played like a bonafide Crosby 1st line center and treated like he’s Superman. Another 1st round pick is another 1st round pick. The pick will likely be 20th overall? So what? Look at our success with finding impact players and blue chip prospects with late 1st and 2nd round picks; even mid to late round picks for that matter. And yes this is credit to Benning not just ex-scout Judd Brackett who CDC loses their mind about.

Demko- 36th overall in 2014

Lammikko- 65th overall in 2014

Boeser- 23rd overall in 2015

Juulsen- 26th overall in 2015

Gaudette- 149th overall in 2015

(which nabbed us Highmore)

Juolevi- 5th overall in 2016 (would go around 20th overall now and would still be a good pick. Nabbed us Juulsen and Lammikko which is scouting work by our team still as they are young players who went…

Juulsen- 26th overall in 2015

Lammikko- 65th overall in 2014

Lockwood- 64th overall in 2016

Rathbone- 95th overall in 2017

M.DiPietro- 64th overall in 2017

Woo- 37th overall in 2018

T.Madden- 68th overall in 2018

(even if he takes off with LA it’s still credit to our scouting and he helped us nab Toffoli while Boeser was out)

Hoglander- 40th overall in 2019

Silovs- 156th overall in 2019

Jurmo- 82nd overall in 2020

V.Persson- 192nd overall in 2020

Klimovich- 41st overall in 2021

(Traded to Chicago)-105th overall in 2021 (which helped nab us

Highmore and Bowey)

Koskenvuo- 137th overall in 2021

{Koskenvuo had a 1000 save% in 2 games at the U-20s recently and is committed to Harvard next season. Also has already had lessons and video calls with Ian Clark}

Dermott is bordering on waiver wire material. Kerfoot is playing third line center, good luck with him as a second line center. Amirov is another smallish player. No, no and no.

No kidding strong interest for a great player

shocking.

only a total  moron  would make trades from the Canucks right now

especially any of the top players

So I guess it possible then with JB still employed.

most face off taken mist  face offs won and a winning FO%

the only guy on the team that wins draws better trade him.

Gms looking to take advantage of one of the leagues worst gms who’s in a familiar  spot at the bottom of the standings.

Dermott would have been waived two months ago if that was the case. They’re looking to trade him and have held onto him with his name being in the rumour mill for awhile now for a reason. They want to get something for him.

Horvat has 11 points in 22 games.

Kerfoot has 14 points in 23 games.

Kerfoot has never been given a bigger role because he was stuck behind MacKinnon and Kadri in Colorado and now Matthews and Tavares in Toronto. Even in a smaller role he is out-scoring Horvat.

Amirov is 6’0, 175 and only just turned 20. He probably fills out to 6’1, 185 Lbs. He was captain of his team for a reason and is not afraid to get involved in the thick of it around the net and dirty areas.

Have a look at this as well @73 Percent since you can’t face facts about our scouting success by what I showed above.

Horvat is awesome. He just needs management to give him line mates he can work with.

it once was tofolli for a short time

I'm with you, but counter argument.. Bo has had like 20 linemates and has only been able to gel with what? 2 or 3? At what point is it maybe Bo who is the issue. Just speaking specifically to finding chemistry.

Perhaps Bo is a top 6 wannabe also? Yes he has flashes of brilliance and some speed, and is a great shutdown man who wins draws. Pretty much what a 3rd line centre should be.

Just playing devil's advocate, maybe always blaming his linemates, and I admit there's been a lot, but maybe slotting Bo in as #2 is the problem.

Doesn’t make sense to trade players like Horvat. Get a new coach. Literally not even a debate. See what happens the rest of season or to trade deadline.

Or

GM and Coaching change. Then they can access the team for the rest of the season.

Making a stupid trade now will further damage the team to the point we have to rebuild again

As a fan of this team I will not stand or support them if they trade Horvat now

you mean we have the chance to trade for a smaller crappier version of Bo that plays less minutes? whoa.

One of the best face off guys in the league, you don’t trade that away, it all starts with winning the draw and having line mates that can help do something with it

Well, I'm assuming logic prevails and eventually we have one lol.

It might just take longer than any of us wants for a new GM-PHO and coach, I'm not sure Aqua is even done deciding what they think is the right fit yet.

Green might be gone, but I don't see JB going anywhere anytime soon
