Doesn't matter what you want or what any of us here want it only matters what the new GM will want come summer if Boudreau doesn't turn this sinking ship around and make the play offs

Well, it's not as if a new coaching staff can do any worse in the meantime, whereas the longer Green and his assistants were left in place the more damage was going to happen imo.

If there's a new GM we'll cross that bridge when we get there.

Ok hold up! For everyone saying Benning needs to go first... No he doesn't.

Most folks agree this team on paper should be better. So a new coach will either get things rolling, or he will prove that it is not coaching, but personnel. If it's personnel then it will be obvious and Benning goes at the end of season.

People wanted change. Here is change. If people are still complaining then Lord help cdc.

Thank you!!!! Like I have been saying for awhile now, most of us have been happy with Benning's moves of late (no GM is perfect). We all know this team should be performing at a much better rate. I thought they were chanting for the wrong firing last night.

I look forward to the future playoff disappointment. But at least it's making future playoffs.

Too bad this hire wasn't made two weeks ago, while the season was still salvageable, but hopefully we get some good systems hockey now.

Very telling that Aqua fired Green before Benning...see if anything moves on that front.

You look at how the team performed like brutal pk and no coaching lift to get Petey and brick on track regardless of how you feel about the roster coaching change was Canucks next step

Not a well timed move at all.

The Canucks are 7 points back of .500 and  12 points behind a play off spot. 57 games left to catch up.

They get a new coach 'bounce' and win a few more games, yay?

All they can do now is ruin a high draft pick opportunity, and wait for next year.

Hopefully some trades will be made to better next season's team.

One just hopes it doesn't involve our 1st round pick in 2022.

Biggest thing for me on all of this is. What type of team do we have? Are these players as good as I and a lot of other believe. That’s what I wanna know and that wasn’t going to happen with Green

True enough. I have nothing against Boudreau tbh, but I don't like that the team held on to Benning. And they still need to hire a President of Hockey Ops. Just seems backwards to me and feels like another bandaid.  Regardless, I'll still be watching and cheering the boys on.

Don't like that the team is hiring a coach first as that now limits the GM options and even worse, tells me that Aquilini has no desire to give up his meddling ways.

Besides that, what's the appeal of Boudreau other than he appears to get teams to the playoffs without actually winning much?

Again, this is concerning to me because it fits the modus operandi of this ownership to get a couple of playoff gates regardless of the cost.

I'd be over the moon with that 2015 run to the Conference Finals.

I'm not against letting Travis go, and don't really have a firm opinion of Bruce B; however, imo, winning now is just going to screw up our pick slot.

Part of me wants to see them climb back into it, b/c if its a death march from Xmas on then the future of the core could be up in the air. If they respond & play the way they should its much more positive for this group long term.

Plus, do I really want to hinge my only enjoyment of the season on the draft lottery? (if we were to continue sinking).. I don't know

no, we all don't. In my opinion, they are not a playoff team with their current D

Team's maxed out with the cap. We aren't gonna be bringing in anybody without getting rid of a big piece and a lot of our guys have been struggling.
