So that number is wrong I think... He's a 1st time offender. In his case it's by game days missed over the full season. There are 200 days in this season and he is missing 6 game days. 6/200 x 750K = USD 22'500.-
FaninMex
100% Spezza did that on purpose. In the Slo-mo you see his knee being driven forward. I have like Spezza but that was dirty
goog16
The guy was vulnerable and this was intentional, they got it right!!
Nuxfanabroad
Heard they only gave him 1 meagre game, but after Spezza's goofy guffaw, they tacked on 5 more!
Makaramel MacKhiato
Are people seriously calling for 2 games?! An intentional knee-on-knee is MAYBE 2 games.. this was an intentional knee to the head! We saw Tavares go down for a similar thing. Who cares if he's a "class act", if you're intentionally kneeing a guy in the head, which can have serious-long term effects on a player, then you should pay for your actions.
Rindiculous
Even for a guy with a clean history, that might be the dirtiest hit I've seen in at least 5 years. I would have liked to see 10 that was clearly attempt to injure and those should be dealt with much more severity.
SilentSam
Spezza is lucky it was only 6, seriously, it should have been 10.. Do you think the league is actually learning? If the NHL would have got this right 17 years ago.. Bertuzzi would have been one of the fabled Hall of Fame power forwards the league had seen.. it no, the NHL let it go to “code”. THE REPLAY DOES NOT LIE. 1
4petesake
One of the rare times I thought DOPS got it right. -100% on purpose and retaliatory -admitted he knew it was Pionk -had to get low to connect -led with the knee They probably would have given Spezza 10 if he was a Canuck or alternately 2 if Pionk was a Canuck.

Sweathog
No way that was intentional, should be reduced to 2 games.
PhillipBlunt
While Spezza did deserve a suspension for the knee, 6 games is a bit of an overreaction. If the useless zebras had done their job initially, this would have never happened. How does a vet with a squeaky clean record like Spezza get 6 games, and a scumbag like Marchand only get 3. The DoPS is so random and inconsistent, it's beyond words.
