Like Boudreau said  let's just take it one week at a time.

The best answer so far, by far....

One week at the time. Sop far we won the week, lets see how next week goes...

Will we make the playoffs?

Maybe yes / maybe no, but its important for the team to learn to win consistently, and for the management to see, with whom the can win and with whom they can't....

One week of the time.

I definitely believe. Not sure why some people want to blow it up. I feel like some people want to just tank till they draft gretzkey reincarnated. If we traded petterson we are not getting someone as good or better. Best case we get picks. Unless it's a top 5 pick odds say they won't be very good or make it. Even with a top 5 pick odds are against us. Instead we should focus on the fact that we are winning despite Petterson. Imagine if he was on his game?

The Canucks were not dominated against winninpeg. They traded chances. Watching live Van had so many opportunities but many times they miscommunicated. These plays will come with time as they get used to the new system. Let them finish out the season. Let petterson try to return to form until at least next Nov although I think he's going to start improving a bit each game.

But they won....

during the first 20+ game we played, there were many close ones that we lost. often teams get on a run, and the sheer belief get them the win, despite maybe not justifiable...

Hot Demko and who knows...

You named it yourself...imagine if Petey goes on a tear...

One week at the time, and the first one under BB we won...

PS. Enjoy the next one at Rodgers :)

If you see the standing, we are not that far from a team like Oilers. We are like 6 points behind Oilers who are in the 3rd spot. The pacific division is not that strong. Aside from Vegas the others could collapse and go into a huge losing streak. Look at those invincible Flames, they lost 4 in a row. And everyone knew Oilers would falter after their PP stops scoring 3 to 4 goals each game since they are the worst team 5 on 5. Anaheim is on a high and they are a young time, its unpredictable if they will make the playoffs or not. San jose and LA are sinking and Seattle is behind us. People here were making it sound so impossible to make playoffs with 51 games to go. A lot can happen in those 51 games. Canucks not only have gain their confidence back, some players are having career years like Demko and Hughes. Pettersson and Boeser have woken up and Poolman logged 24 minutes against the Canes and won. So it seems they have some underrated players now and are playing as a team. I see the win streak as real and not a fluke at all. Change in offensive and defensive style, improving PK and PP, gaining back confidence. The 4 game win streak is more indicative of our team's potential not the way we played under a crappy coach like Green. I see the way we play is sustainable. The expected goals for is now at 2.80 vs. 2.15 under Green.

So with games in hand, the oilers are realistically 8-10 points ahead.  Can the Canucks win 4-5 more games than the Oil here on out?  Why not?!!!  And they don't stand a terrible chance against passing LA and San Jose this year neither.  It's a huge hole to come out of, but not inconceivable.
