Popular Post -Vintage Canuck-
Jim Rutherford: "Stan has been a foundational piece of this team for decades, and we are pleased that he will be taking on this role. In addition, Henrik, Daniel, and Ryan are key parts of our leadership team. We still have some additional roles to fill, but confirming these positions today is a big step for us." As per the press release, Stan Smyl will work closely with Rutherford on all hockey operations matters, including player personnel decisions and internal operations. 6 3 6

VegasCanuck
Awesome News....that nose REALLY looks like he has earned Vice President of Hockey Operations, too. Was originally thinking him as President, but pretty happy so far with JR. 3

Popular Post Roger Neilsons Towel
That’s awesome! Stan’s been a good soldier for this franchise forever. Happy for him to get the recognition he deserves. Grooming him to potentially take over for JR one day. 4 2

Popular Post Locke Lamora
Now this I like. Heart and soul of a Canuck needs to remain near the centre of the organization. 4
Popular Post wallstreetamigo
This is a fantastic move from Rutherford. Well deserved and it’s nice to see Stan get his due finally to not just be in an advisor role. Rutherford is going to build that front office the right way. 2 1
EternalCanuckFan
I think Smyl's new role should be a good fit for the Canucks. Not surprising that Johnson and the Sedins have been retained. I wonder if the Canucks are going to have one of the largest management teams in the league? 1 Pres, 1 VP, 1 GM and probably 3 AGMs just for the Canucks. Since the farm team has shared ownership and is directly overseen by the Canucks, the Abby management team isn't necessarily that separate from the NHL management team. Popular Post Nuxfanabroad
At first was reluctant(on JR), but this sounds like it's coming together quite nicely. Smyl is an absolutely dependable, career-Canuck! Congratz to the Man. 3 1
