Every management and coaching decision to this point has been done to perfection. I have to admit i am thoroughly impressed how well things have started both on and off the ice. We finally have experience in key areas and fantastic canuck legends assisting through the process!

Kudos to Francesco, Jim, and Bruce. Special props to Smyl to our highest winning percentage gm in Canucks history!

JR is putting his trusted people in positions of power in the organization, and the only GM candidates being talked about are current or former Penguin's execs, so you do the math.  Like everybody, Rutherford has a comfort level with people he's been through the wars with, and wants them in positions of power.  However, he's taking over a franchise with long-term and well-liked people in top positions, and so he'll give them titles with little power, and hold the power close to those he trusts.  It's a basic management style that I've seen plenty in my life.

No, definitely, Stan and the Twins will simply be paperweights while JR calls all the shots...

The only one I don't understand is the one before Smyl, but hey, let's give it time. Maybe Rutherford does all the work and just likes to have that guy around.

1.  I think you underestimate the clout that Stan carries here

2.  The moves that took place all started by way of Stan's intervention from what I understand.  I'm quite sure he wouldn't be satisfied as a paper weight.

I feel like this team will be run by committee moving forward...there are good hockey minds that can't be ignored here.  We've seen how that can unfold and I doubt they repeat the same mistakes.

Congratulations Stan !

Even still,  at the press conference last week,

Canuck to the core..

it’s his , Quinn’s, and Kurtenbach’s work ethic that define how this team should be on the ice.

Blue Collar tough as nails , able to move the posts and break the glass.

i hope to hear more from Stan.. he’s a tell it like it is Salt of the Earth type person, be poking back at the media for poking at his team.

This is an excellent point. Stan's a lifer Canuck. I feel that because JR agreed to hire Smyl as VP, they are on the same wavelength, and that Steamer will always stand up for what's best for the team.

Great signing.

He’s a scout...

Is he any good at it?  No!  Fire this bum!  He’s been here forever, and he does nothing!  Loved him as a player, but he’s craperolla as a scout, or whatever the hell he does.  Fire Delorme!
