Popular Post Goal:thecup
REST, CANUCKS, REST EDITION Rest, recover, and then practice, practice, practice. Dial that ripper in, Pete! The Hockey Gods continue to shine on the Vaunted Vancouver Canucks. Realizing they had played more games than any other NHL team, and were about to play 3 more in 4 nights, the HGs gave the team a couple games off (please, no more than the 2). The BBC (Bruce Boudreau Canucks) would have played the overblown Leaf blowers last night and the awful Arizona Coyotes tonight, but are now in recovery, resting and relaxing. The hope at this point is to play against San Jose, back in SJ, on Tuesday night; fingers crossed that we are good to go. This thread is provided for people who were looking forward to talking about beating the crap out of those mangy desert dogs tonight, and I hope the mods allow it. This thread is not for proving you know more about the pandemic than the entire rest of the world. So let's try and keep the Covid stuff to a minimum, and only as it relates to the NHL, the Canucks, and restarting the games. I am not going to add a bunch of stuff to this one, just going to see if it catches on, and we can let that last GDT die an uncomfortable death. Thoughts go out to fans who had plans to attend this game, hope you can recover some costs, and trust that you can find other joys to light your days. Best wishes to all persons who have contracted Covid, and their friends and families, for a full and rapid recovery. Now. Who knows when we play next? nux_win
I don't want to be one of "those" guys but there's an important difference between "postponed" and "cancelled". Which one is it? There's a real chance the whole NHL might be suspended for a while. I want to see more hockey, especially since we're on a roll, but I also want people to be safe. I suspect that there are going to be a lot more disruptions. We need to do what it takes to stop this annoying disease, and then get back to hockey. GCG!

Good catch; didn't realize I was losing the distinction. I don't think the owners or the league want to cancel any games. The players and the PA are probably quite concerned with escrow v/v lost revenues, I don't know. And thanks for responding, I think you are not only the first, but the only one. 6of1_halfdozenofother
Today was supposed to be the glorious return of our "cap dumps" to Vancouver. So much for the "thank you" videos.

Chris12345
Do the players have to covid test every time they cross the border? That would suck!

Regular people have to have a covid test every time the cross the border for 72 hours or more. At least that's my understanding.

This gives injured players time to get back to full health, and they can keep practicing and learn the new system better. Absolutely helps. From what Rutherford said, none of the players have and serious symptoms - mild or none. About what you'd expect at this time given all the data too. 2
Ghostsof1915
For World Juniors they are reducing it to one pre-tourney game, instead of 3. https://www.tsn.ca/team-canada-adjusts-to-another-covid-curve-ball-1.1736770

They had to do it every three days regardless. Now it's every single day. Get through the weekend they said to Jim. Why don’t we just postpone and start fresh in the new year. That makes too much sense for me 1 1
Bounce000
I just did some pre-scouting. #21 makes a lot of money so he’s probably a good player. Might want to tightly check him. 1
