If Canucks can go 3 of 5 they can stay in the hunt. It is like Boudreau said ‘win the week’. It breaks the challenge into pieces that the team can focus on. Anaheim is hanging in. Oilers have to much talent to not recover. If the Oilers deal for a tender then they could take off. Demko stays hot and Hamonic comes in and the Canucks could continue their run.

Ya 3 of 5  should be very doable. The bolts and  caps have been struggling so hopefully that continues. The preds will be without Forsberg and we seem to do well against them. The Canes might be using Lyon or a rookie right out of college in net so that's huge, the biggest challenge  will be against the panthers.

A perfect storm of rust, first game of AM eastern road trip and a team that is lights out at home and a top 5 team overall has all the hallmarks of a loss. But if we manage a win that will be huge.

Not sure after 34 games if this is a do or die scenario but 6+ points would obviously help.

Gut check time. This road trip will show us what we really have with our team. JR will be watching closely to see how we perform against the top teams, and our guys know this, so it'll be interesting to see how they respond. It's make or break, and I can't wait to see how it unfolds.

Yup, I have low expectations after a long layoff and an east coast road trip against some of the best teams in the league. I they can win more than 2 games I'll consider it a victory, as long as they look competitive. Then come back home and feast on some western conference teams and leapfrog in to the playoffs!

Thanks. There's a lot of question marks there for tomorrow. I guess we have to wait for pre-game skate.

This is the best I've been able to find on the taxi squad as of today.

I am sure there are better sources, maybe CDC, lol.

Canucks News

  • Three players (Sheldon Rempal, Spencer Martin and Ashton Sautner) will join the Canucks on this upcoming road trip as members of the taxi squad.

Rempal has been the team’s second-leading scorer this season with 22 points (nine goals, 13 assists) in 24 games.

Martin has been Abbotsford’s best goaltender. He hasn’t lost in regulation yet (5-0-2-1) and sports a 2.24 GAA and a .921 SV% on the year.

  • Justin Bailey was also recalled to the taxi squad, but he was quickly reassigned when it was announced that Elias Pettersson had cleared protocol and will join the team on their upcoming road trip.

Not unless they somehow replace their entire D with NHL quality players.  Koskinen is absolute trash but so are the pylons Edmonton has on the blueline.  They are not a good team.
