From all the clips I've seen... I'm not sure Rutherford was all that great of a player in his day. Probably right in line with Garrett. Garrett was one of the best goalies in WHA history and also one of two goalies in Canucks history to be over .500 for his career before the Canucks actually became a consistent winning team in the 90s. He also carried the Nordiques for a while in the 1982 playoffs. Quite an underrated goalie actually. Rutherford... He was actually very good with the Penguins, decent with Detroit but stuck with the results any goalie gets on a crap team. Don Beaupre and Richard Brodeur would have been Hall of Famers if they had switched spots with Fuhr or Smith. Show us you can step up when we need you most, boys. Catch em by surprise, get the first goal, try to lock it down and play stingy.
