[Proposal] Anaheim and Vancouver trade with Miller going to Disneyland

Recommended Posts

Anaheim started strong but are not in a guaranteed playoff spot.  They have quite a few upcoming UFAs and are not yet really contenders.  They announced a rebuild last off-season.

Don’t see them spending at the TDL let alone for a UFA in a year who doesn’t fit their age group.  If Miller is too old for the Canucks’ core than he is also too old for Anaheim’s who are building around Zegras and McTavish.

IMO It's not really enough. Steel Mahura and Larsson are kinda meh. the 1st will be in the mid late 20's. It's important we get a Mctavish, Drysdale caliber prospect in the very least as part of the deal w Anaheim.

The Ducks are not giving up Drysdale, McTavish or Zegras as those guys are untouchable and this draft is deep and Steel can be a good 3C on cost effective cap hit and Mahura is a good #5 on a ELC and Larsson would go to Abbotsford and next year fight to be on the team

You don't get  PPG Power 1C on a sweetheart cap hit in exchange for a so so 3c a 5d and a late 1st though. This is the reverse Raymond Ballard and a 1st.

To your point jokes aside Miller commands an untouchable as part of the return. Maybe they aren't the best trading partners if they aren't willing to move a key piece.

They also have some prospects like Axel Andersson, Sasha Pastujov, Olen Zellweger they would part with

I think you have to look at Mason McTavish, Jamie Drysdale, 2022 1st, and a 2023 1st as the starting point for the negotiations.

Any serious trades this year now involve Miller and Chychrun.

The price for both will be comparable with Miller commanding the higher return for obvious reasons the least of which have to do with injury.

Anaheim is reportedly in on Chychrun as well but you know full well they're not getting him without Zegras or McTavish coming back, so why would we accept less?

If that's the case, then the Ducks should be scratched from the list.  They can't or won't offer a fair trade for Miller.
