Dream Team

Challenge of trying to have , Mcdavid, MacKinnon, Makar and Quinn Hughes on the same team, while still having a strong supporting cast. I love the team I came up with. Speed, skill, size, toughness and excellent goaltending.

Personally I'd sub out McDavid for Draisaitl, and use the cap savings to bolster the depth.

But if you're wanting to get him and the other top names mentioned together, this is probably about as good as it would get (maybe just sub out Pod and Stanley for more established players).

Kariya- Lemieux- Yzerman
Gagne- Sakic - Iginla
Shanahan- Lindros- Fleury
Smyth- Nieuwendyk- Nolan

Pronger- Neidermayer
Jovanovski MacInnis
Blake - Foote

Roy

Brodeur

Belfour

Also, it's the 20 year anniversary of the best Canadian team ever assembled in an Olympic games. Give it a rewatch, it's a hell of a game.

2010 was a more emotional win, 2002 was a 'bigger' win. First gold in 50 years, overturn the disappointment of the Czech game (Hasek'd), and the US team was equally favoured to win AT HOME. Playing the spoiler is always great.

Man, I was so glad me and some friends decided to make the trip to Whistler to watch the game in 2002.  What an insane time it was in the village.

Goaltenders were Brodeur, Joseph, Belfour.  No Patrick Roy, and certainly not above Brodeur who was fantastic.

Patrick Roy was the best. We've had this conversation before.  just because you played longer that doesn't make you better!

According to the simulations, this is the ultimate dream team that would go 16-0 in the playoffs

Lafreniere - Kesler - Iginla

Duchene - Stastny - Cheechoo

Carter - Horvat - Bondra

S.Sullivan - Morrison - N.Foligno

Theodore - Rielly

Jovanovski - Rafalski

Hamrlik - J.York

Price

Budaj

Roy was fine. But he wasn't on that 2002 Olympic Team.
