BureBurrito
Vegas Golden Knights are going to hit a major problem with the cap and roster as Eichel is set to resume play likely in the coming weeks (maybe after the Olympics or March at the latest) and they can't keep finding players to throw onto their injured reserved list... JR and Co have a major opportunity as trading partners to either pick off some picks or players (with remaining term) but only if they themselves can offload some future potentially bloated contracts (Poolman, OEL, Miller, Boeser, Halak, Hamonic, Sutter maybe Horvat...). Could the team off-sell IR players for cap savings in exchange for picks? Hamonic/Sutter (both on IR) & Halak for a package of mid round picks and one of Reilly/Dadonov (both on expiring deals)? J-Dizzle
Did you just refer to Miller and Horvat's contracts as bloated?

Drakrami
IR players salary is already not counting towards the cap.. how hard is that to understand.... The irony is the post is about Eichel coming out of IR. Edited February 3, 2022 by Drakrami

BigTramFan
One thing you are right about is that when Eichel and Martinez return from LTIR, Vegas will have to do something about moving contracts. But I am pretty sure they are going to delay his recovery until the playoffs and, since the cap doesn't matter in the playoffs, he will be added to their roster without needing to dump any cap. However, if he has to return before the playoffs, things could get interesting. If we happen to have traded a significant piece (like Miller or Boeser) already, then we will have some cap space that could be used to take some of VGK cap dumps along with some interesting sweeteners (I would be keen on Whitecloud and picks).
