Not being ready to play falls on the shoulders of leadership in the dressing room. ie: your captain.

with Halak we don’t have the luxury of different goaltenders on back to backs.

With the amount of time Demmer has had off, BB has to ride him until we get a solid backup. If you wanna make the playoffs every game is a must win and you need to ice your best lineup.

BB is playing favourites with Hunt, because he’s the only player he “knew” before coming to coach. Questionable decision making.

I don’t necessarily blame Halak for this game. The 1st and 5th goal should have been easy stops for him. Barzal lifted the puck up and Halak’s short ass was the difference in that. The rest of the goals were tipped and bounced, and just horrible d coverage. Juulsen and OEL were terrible.

Losing against an eastern team cushions the loss a bit but we need to start stringing a couple of wins here.

Boeser was dog$&!#…. Again. We need to move him and replace him with someone with more speed and size. Pearson as well.

Also, Highmore needs to be back in the line up. Can’t be having Dowling play over Highmore. Highmores absence in the bottom 6 is felt.

Canucks were on a run for the playoffs so I don't mind not trading them but yes losing Tanev and Markstrom both was just terrible. I didn't expect both would resign but losing both Tanev and Toffoli in one offseason just hurt

so there are 8 players left from that playoff bubble run

and there is talk some of them will be traded

There is talk that making the playoffs helps a team grow

and yet the 8 players left from that "Experience" are the players still not ready to play the last 2 games (EXCEPT FOR Demko, he was ready)

that playoff experience cost us a 1st + a 3rd for  Miller

a 2nd for Toffoli

and potential returns on

Markstom

Tanev

Fantenberg

Stetcher

was it worth it?

I’d love to see a trade with Arz; Crouse and a prospect/pick for Boeser. Arizona is going to need to spend just to stay above the cap floor. They’ll definitely be able to afford whatever Boeser may ask.

So we can wait to see BB in Quebec city ... nice.  I like that.

I don't know that's subjective.   Can say i sure enjoyed it...the Vegas series was a nail biter though...bombers five man box good lord we were so out matched lol.

Short answer JB achieved more in the record books then Crow and the WCE era managed.   And had the 4th longest run our club has too (in the record books).   MIN was a top defensive team, as beat them - St. Louis a contender - we beat them.    Those two teams we managed to play on par with as well.   Vegas showed us what level we need to be at too.

Was it worth it?   Well i have doubts this core would be capable to match it even if we sold these guys and kept our assets.    So might as well keep the memories and be grateful for them.

We arent getting crouse for useless boeser.  All he does is stand around and wait for pucks to deflect off his stick.

So, came home from work and saw the "condensed game". From what i could see there was NOT much Halak could have done on the goals with all those bounces of skates and knees. And do i notice something good coming out of the line between Podz, Petey and Hoglander? seems like petey really is back and not just a couple of fluke points. the more confidence the better he will become and he will make his linemates better too. Other then that i know its always difficult to play the second of a back-to-back game so im not sure what conclusions u can make of this. ^_^

Podz hogz petey line will be something special soon.

They need to reunite the PPG line.  Point per game line.  When they get a point we never lose...

Podkolzin   Pettersson   Garland

This should be our #1 line moving forward.  I prefer Garland on this line to Höglander as he has more speed and creativity.  A perfect #1 line with a power forward, a #1 centre and a fast and creative winger who can open up space for the other two.

Nah i prefer hogz with petey over garland.  Hogz needs the experience. Only a matter of time b4 he explodes.

Watched it at the Rogers.

Our AHL defence got exposed in the first. Forwards weren't helping much this game.

But Pettersson was on fire today. He and his linemates were constantly talking on the bench. I think Podz is a good playmaking winger that supports Petey very well. Hoglander needs to improve his decision making or at least make it faster. He has to get pucks off hist stick quicker instead of waiting until you have no option but to pass.

Yes, much better than with Miller.

Now the young guns can focus on their game.

Said many times,, this team has some skill and when not pushed around can play quite nicely.  Aside from miller there are no vocal leaders on the ice. Horvat while a decent player i dont feel is the leader we envision him to be.  What player scares opposing teams with speed?  We are a very slow soft team with some skill, but really,, all teams have skill.. other then goaltending what is our edge??

They have had a ton of rest this whole season. Let’s not use back to backs as an excuse. A lot of teams have to do them and they are well conditioned athletes.

I think that was Pettersson's best game of the year.

Finally no fumbling of the puck, he was physical and wasn't getting knocked down and won a few battles against bigger players, he took the puck to the net and scored which is scary to do for someone who only weighs 170 pounds(he really needs to pack on 10 pounds of meat this summer), he was getting shots on goal from different angles(had 4 and could of had a few more easily, he's had wayyyy to many games where he's only had 1 SOG or less) , he was white on rice backchecking like the good old days.

It helped that Hogs and Pods played good as well.  Those two need to develop, it's actually quite crucial for this to happen for the sake of the future of this club
