I am pretty sure our current goal song kills the excitement of scoring a goal all by itself.

A good goal song should get the crowd pumped up!  Although I hate their goal song (traumatic memories) the Chicago Blackhawks have a great one.  It gets the crowd pumped up and they can easily sing along.

I would like to hear everyone else's ideas for a great goal song!   The chorus from this song is my choice (50 sec mark or so)

I agree.

Also, our DJ HAS to get more on board with songs that are energy/pump up songs and some with a bit more of an intimidation factor. I'm not sure Call Me Maybe is really a hockey song. I get that you want to also attract young fans/families to the games, but come on. At times our building feels like we're at a tween concert then whisked off to a rave.

Come on Deb I know you love the rap music :p. Also our goal song does indeed suck!

I like the current goal song just because of how it came about. there has to be a sort of organic nature to these things for them to work well.

I would be embarrassed of the team if they used the song in the op.

While no backstory can make this goal song not suck I am curious to know what it is?

Also, what is embarrassing about the goal song I posted?

it's not an exciting story. the team used it for 80s night, the team played well and beat the jets, the song went over well and the arena was bumping, and the players clearly liked it, with jt caught singing along during a game while mic'd up.

as for the song you posted, no offense intended, but I just find it trite, boring, and generally awful.

There are a few things i think this dj needs to do

one, the opening song or the song the team skates out to should be changed to something that is more associated with a battle.

Its epic, its urgent, its mature and classy and its from the good the bad and the ugly in a dual to the death

Two - the goal song being dont you forget about me is good, i like it, but if the goal song is changed and the skate is pushing for a return the song has to be changed to ‘rock and roll part 2’ by gary glitter. If you dont know why you can go cheer for the flames!! (Just a joke for you youngins)

third - when the visiting team scores nothing should be played at all until the next whistle

I fell asleep listening to the first one and nobody is bringing back child rapist music.

lets put it this way, we make the Leafs goal song sound good.

I always think of those old Telus (or some other phone company) commercials with the cute animals in them because they played the same song.
