Yeah, cautiously optimistic and Allvin/JR doesn't have any Crosby or Malkin in there line up to build around.   There drafting & development record in Pitsburgh is atrocious.

Well hopefully our scouting department is better. Maybe that can be the lasting effect of Bennings legacy here.

The most important thing they need to do is develop a culture and decide what type of players they value.

Everything else becomes easier after that. Then you can hone in on players that match those attributes.

I'd say 95% Leafs noise.  They think everyone covets their scraps.

Did you see the Halak trade proposals early on?

How eager some were to defend the Poolman signing?

Same applies here too with overvaluing our scraps.

It's painful reading the comments in this thread regarding Elliotte. So out of touch with reality.

Looking at the Kings roster as an example: they have a lot of homegrown talent in there roster - which, indicates a good development program.  Drafting is only one part and it is in the development of the prospect, where the culture can organically develope.  JBs' model of constantly tweaking the roster, has not only gutted the teams ability to add quality depth, due to the lack of cap and a farm to draw from - for both depth & tradeable assets but it has robbed the Canucks of homegrown talents, that can replace any outgoing players.

JR has the resume but the same resume, has me expecting alot.  The Canucks doesn't have the pieces, that Pitsburgh had when JR took over.
